When will Humans become Extinct?

Human consciousness remains in a cycle of evolutionary development we are moving gradually towards ever higher and more complex states of Cosmic awareness.

Our cycle began in the infancy of the Stone-craft Age
(or possibly an earlier Wood-craft age - this will be conformed when the first petrified wood-worked relic is found) - when the first independent ego surfaced in an ex-hominid's consciousness

Since then consciousness has evolved though increasing complex states of social, spiritual and economic development - each of which can be measured by increasingly sophisticated measurements of Time and Space.

In the infancy of our Stone Age, Time and Space was measured relatively - day to day via the luck of the hunt
In the childhood of our Bronze Age - Time and Space was measured via seasonal planting and harvesting
In the puberty of the Iron Age, Time and Space was measured via the demands of conscientious industrial craftsmanship
In our teens of the Steel Age Time and Space was measured via telescope and microscope
In the young adulthood of the Nuclear age - Time and Space are again seen as relative

Ages of Terra-forming Mastership and transcendental Cosmic Sagehood lie ahead of us - when no more children will be born individually and our physical cycle will come to an end

In that final stage we will probably behave similar to bees
all connected by a collective state of Cosmic Consciousness
we will no longer be argumentative individuals and parasites feeding on the Mother planet
but pollinators of extreme creative genius
making honey
not money
with our Universal Consciousness connected to the Galactic Centers

E=MC2 + Love

can emphasize
sympathize
and respect
the desire to experience freedom
after the restrains and disciplines of a careful childhood up-bringing

what then is freedom?
Freedom to do what?
Where to do it?
How to experience it?
Why the need for it?
When is the time for it

None of those questions has ever been correctly analyzed
or ant answer to them universally accepted
if any one of them had
there would be no Protestations
no disagreements
no prodigal sons or daughters
no bloody revolutions
no wars
no broken homes
no estranged families
no divorce
no need for written declarations of independence
no need for proclamations of anarchy
no need to bow before kings or gods

Yet
If freedom is recognized by us all
as the most basic of all human rights
why then do we find it so difficult to comprehend?
why so difficult to put into practice?.
why is it so dangerous?

If freedom is worth any price
with every man and woman entitled to their own interpretation of it
but find in the end that it has given us a polluted world
with mass starvation
and mass epidemics of sickness
a crescendo of natural disasters
with our cultures teetering on the edge of species extinction
is freedom worth it?

If
there are millions crying out for inspired leadership
is that not a conflict of two directly posing principles?
does not leadership require obedience
with followers submitting to concerted rules of mass behavior?

Again I ask
what is freedom
if it leads to human conflict
the desecration of all our values
and Nature's values
and ultimately the violent end of the world?
is freedom worth it?

No separation between Church and State

Mankind like all else in the Universe
is an an expression of an Omniscient Godhead
therefore there than can be no separation
between the Laws of God and the laws of Man
In essence they are one and the same
with the guiding principle being
Loving Care for all of Creation

A distinction needs to to be made between the interpretations and administration of the Law
by the politician and the clergy
not the law itself

It is human to err
both statesman and medicineman make inevitable human mistakes

and thus subject to endless mechanical amendment
its is written indelibly in the heart of every new-born infant

the object of human administration

by loving parents in the security of a good home
not locked in a classroom behind a desk in state schools

when this homeschooling is done lovingly
then there will be no need for either Church or State

The purpose of science

God is simply an idea in human consciousness

thus the more clearly past experience is recalled to consciousness
the more certain the needs of the present are met
and the more probable preparations for the future

seeing clearly ahead
is the essence of wisdom
for the SEER has a comprehensive grasp of Time and Space
and is conscious of being in the right place at the right time
doing the right thing

the desire for the security of wisdom
is the driving force of conscious evolution
accumulated experience
distilled via increasingly accurate design
is the timeless nectar of the Gods
when all is complete
precisely as designed
the next cosmic cycle begins

so how in this earthly cycle of conscious evolution
did an ape consciousness
some eight million years ago
at the pinnacle of 3 billion years of organic survival experience
make a quantum leap
and become conscious of the needs of the future
and prepare him/herself for it?
what is the missing link?
what was the actual survival mechanism that triggered it?

after 3 billion years of conscious development
the ape brain with a computing and storage capacity of 400cc
evolved some 30 million years ago

this ape brain had remained static
and grew no larger for the next 20 million years

then some five to eight million years ago
within the space of 5 million years
the skull size of one of the specie of apes
suddenly ballooned to 1400cc
while all the rest of its relatives remained static

why?
obviously in order to provide far greater computing capacity

if the ape specie was surviving quite happily for tens of millions of years
with its former brain
why did Nature select one of the specie
and decide it needed a larger brain?
what was trebling the computing capacity needed for?
what intellectual factor arrived to trigger the new growth spurt?

The answer can only be the Time factor
the former ape brain dealt only with the retrieval of past time experience
factored in with all the variables of present time survival exigencies
the infinite variables of future effect on present action
were not factored into their survival needs

in basic conscious terms
apes live moment to moment
intuitively conscious of all past experience
able to apply that survival knowledge to daily existence
but apes have no consciousness of the future
therefore a 400cc brain is all that is needed for survival

the ape brain had remained static
because its survival variables were finite
400cc were sufficient capacity for present needs

Birth Consciousness/Alien Abductions

The medical profession pays little or no attention to the possible traumatic effects its procedures might have on infant consciousness during hospital deliveries. Its is assumed by all concerned that: Infants are born mindless. Therefore at the moment of birth the five senses register no meaningful input. Consequently, since science believes that consciousness is a by-product of life and only arises gradually, via circumstantial development and later teaching instruction. it matters not where or how or what environment is present when a child is brought into the world.

What is if this assumption is totally wrong? First of all senselessness does not make sense in Nature. For instance, within minutes of birth foals, fawns, kids and lambs are up and running It is a survival imperative that they are born with all their senses immediately on hyper alert. Why should humans be born virtually unconscious? Is it possible that every single incident of the birth moment might be indelibly imprinted on the infant psyche?

Until recently there has been no objective method of measuring the degree of consciousness that might be registered at a birth. But since middle of the 20th Century, as hospital assisted births in the developed nations have become increasingly the custom, a significantly disturbing abnormality has emerged.

Unlikely as it sounds at first, this concerns the huge increase of people reporting on alien abductions. The majority of those people claiming to have been abducted by aliens, basically describe finding themselves lying on an operating table, staring up at a bright light, with shadowy back-lit masked heads staring down impersonally at them; while examining; poking; prodding and pricking them painfully

Sound familiar?

Since the first cases where reported in the 1940's - when hospital births started to become more popular - the increasing numbers of reports of alien abductions have become staggering. The internet references hundreds of thousands. 10,000 cases are reported annually. Nobody knows how many cases remain unreported by individuals too embarrassed to expose themselves to public ridicule to say anything about their experience. The sheer amount of numbers, which continue to increase yearly, are far too many for this almost exclusively western societal phenomenon to continue to simply be dismissed as a laughable pathology of insecure psyches desperately seeking attention.

Do these tens of thousands of reports present enough circumstantial evidence for us to regard them as possible true-to-life accounts of actual birthing experiences, indelibly imprinted on consciousness during hospital deliveries? More disturbing is the very real possibility that all of us who have experienced hospital deliveries may well be unconscious victims of a latent traumatic pathology that could surface at any moment and add our names to the bizarre reports on alien abduction.

What makes this experience seem so real and immediate to those in which the pathology surfaces in consciousness, is the dislocation of time and place, in a false analysis trying to rationalize it to themselves and explain it to others.

What most of us do not know, is the basic fact that the relative nature of time does not register on infant consciousness. Therefore adults who, for no apparent reason suddenly find themselves re-experiencing - what is in reality the past birth moment that took place in a hospital - believe it is a reality happening in present time as adults. And with UFO's as a widely reported phenomenon since the 1940's- can only rationalize the psychological trauma of finding themselves helpless on an operating table, as an unfriendly abduction.

For each of them this is a deeply disturbing life-changing event – made event more so by the outright disbelief of not just the public at large, but also of those nearest and dearest to them. Thus each bizarre report affects entire families – adding to the general trend of modern cynicism regarding human truthfulness in general.

The explanation supplied here is a more rational way of explaining this latent pathology. If generally accepted it would bring a modicum of comfort to victims and their families. Most importantly it would seat a general realization that every fetus is born fully consciously sense-alert and thus put an end to all hospital births unless they are medical emergencies.

It is our Foundation's contention that daily compulsory textbook-based instruction, when it is prematurely imposed on the child psyche for a decade or more, especially when made to sit immobile behind a desk for six hours per day for twelve years inside crowded classrooms during crucial years of athletic development, is not only unnatural in the extreme, resulting in a host of adult ailments later in life, but also inhibits the natural imaginative expression of the child's potential creative genius.

We appreciate that there was no premeditated decision by the State to deliberately damage basic family values for its own economic advantage. We seek educational change not compensation.

It is our contention that for optimum emotional and intellectual development, the child psyche requires an initial seven year period of natural right brain intuitive experience, followed by another seven year period of natural analytical experience before both sides of the brain are mature enough to evaluate for itself the educational content of prescribed text books. It is our experience that this late exposure to literacy in no way interferes with intellectual development.

We realize that the current politically mandated education regulations are historically based on a national schooling concept designed and influenced five generations ago by the economic climate of that time, when the industrial revolution shifted employment opportunity from the farm and family workshop to the corporate mass production line. For the first time in the evolution and development of human family values, paternal (and later maternal) influence was artificially removed from the home environment for most of the daylight hours, with the children incarcerated inside classrooms under State control.

At that time there was no precedent regarding the long term emotional and intellectual limitations of a prescribed compulsory mass education system that broke up the family unit in order to focus on producing a literate work force with a basic grasp of science and technology.

There was no way then of evaluating not only on the psychological effect on the individual child psyche, but also on the collective psyche of the nation as a whole.

The State, which five generations ago was only too happy to officially sign dads off from their parental responsibilities and assign them to duties on the mass production line, or be considered dead beats - now sues those same dads, who busted their butts on the line for over a hundred years building up the industrial strength of the nation for now showing "unnatural" indifference towards their offspring.

It is our Foundation's opinion that the continuation of the current antiquated politically-instituted and State-controlled child education system which, after five generations of implementation, is now so deeply self-indoctrinated by its own set policy, to effectively decide on how to best administer the education of the nation's children.

The nation is built. Globalization is the new economic and social imperative. A new educational philosophy has to be instituted that can meet with these globally-expanded demands

we have forgotten how to think and move independently

as to why we each walk around with two brains housed inside a single head

Do both brains experience the same perception of reality?
If not, what is the basic function of each brain?
How do we process information?
How do we consciously access both brains?
Which side of the brain engages us in dreams?
Why do we dream?
How important are the answers to these questions?

If we can determine the precise evolutionary purpose underlying the need for having two brains
can we, then, evaluate the survival advantages of two separate modes of perception in a more comprehensive manner than we do at present.?

From that position of knowledge we may be able to redefine the enigmatic dynamic of the human psyche – of being both objectively analytic and subjectively intuitive at one and the same time. - and thereby devise and introduce an entirely new methodology designed for a more holistic dual brain education - and in doing so - improve our intelligence and the ethical quality of our lives.

In the forty years since wining the Novel Prize for Sperry's work on the two brains, neither the State nor private educational systems has done anything about that warning from the Nobel Prize laureate and tried to correct the imbalance. The main reason why is because nobody as yet has explained exactly what the value of intuitive input is or even why the brain is split into two separate modes of perception in the first place. Consequently nobody is certain how to devise the exact right brain exercises that could correct the imbalance.

One of Sperry's disciples, Dr. Betty Edwards, devised a system of simple drawing exercises designed to excite the right brain into creative expression. She achieved almost instant success with all her beginner art students within a few weeks they progressed from initial childish sketches to astonishing minor master pieces. Since then her book "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" has sold several million copies and remains a perennial best seller

So we know, at least, that the right brain is home to artistic perspective and that with a little stimulus it responds positively and beneficially.

But we still do not know exactly how valuable or how vital that input is - not just in terms of encouraging a more holistic conscious development - but also in terms of how the output of both brains working in harmony could improve the general level of the human intelligence quotient and social behavior in particular

graduated whole tribes out of an antiquated oral-based system of instruction
putting an end to an entire Bronze Age of contentiously conflicting totemic idiosyncrasies
and clannish feuding
replacing it with a formalized Iron Age standard of literate development

essential to formulation and government of national industries of thought and application

It is upon this primary school base of education
established by organized Religions
that the High School of Science
has evolved and flourished

Even now
five hundred years later
the Religious system of education is not yet quite finished
with literate goals it originally set out to achieve

The wisdom underlying the parable of the Prodigal Son
and rejection of an authoritarian Father
while gambling away his inheritance
refers to typical teenage rebellious demands for independence

and an eventual humble return to responsible ancestral estate management

We can see the biblical parable duplicated
in the scientific rejection of an authoritarian god
its scorn for religious dogma
its wars over political ideologies
its gamble with commodities on the global market

forcing us into a humble return
to a religion of responsible stewardship

A Matured Society

trusts in the personal honor and integrity of each of their fellow citizens

through the adult stages of a Nation's life

not a single person on this planet has ever arrived at adulthood
let alone an entire society
we are all in various stages of evolving maturity
the most advanced societies are teenage protesters
playing Russian roulette with nuclear bombs
and gambling on the market with natural resources
still hellbent on selfish aggrandizement
and to hell with the consequences

all I am espousing is the criteria needed
for us to grow up and become responsible adults
I do believe it must happen eventually
and the sooner the better
we are running out of resources
we may be immature
but we are not stupid

Dissenters are teenagers striving for a necessary transitional state of independent self-awareness
this is best done via self-aggrandizing (aka greedy) competition among their peer group

Adulthood is a state of self-awareness related to a profound understanding
that existence itself is meaningless without compassionate and constructive inter-dependence
that without responsible cooperation and mutual respect among peers
endless competition is no longer creatively productive but also destructive
This state of adult mind is clearly realized as a parent seeking future security for its children
where the welfare of the next generation
is more important than the present one

In an adult state of mind
anarchy is moot
all parents desire precisely the same sharing and caring family values
which are founded on equality of resources and of opportunity

In a society of adult peers
the mind of the parent and that of the State
are one and the same

Freedom. Fraternity and Equality
then become the existential democratic realities of a matured society
not merely the precocious idealistic slogans
of a prior rebellious, self-determinant teenage consciousness

Yesterday we put together a large charcoal kiln out of scrap metal, packed it with 40lbs of raw alfalfa and made 10 lbs of biochar. We will mix the charcoal 50/50 with leaf mulch for the spring vegetable garden.

The ratio of biomass to charcoal is even better than I thought
about 4 to 1

In cash terms that means one ton of alfalfa selling at $200 per ton when turned to biochar is worth $1200. (BioChar sells at $70 for a 30 lb bag.) And since the conversion process chars itself with its own released gasses, it costs nothing to produce but a couple of hours of labor - the net profit is almost $1000.
That is more than just a cool deal!
That is as hot as it gets!

We will construct a much bigger kilm soon, also out of scrap but this one with an added compression chamber that can store and redirect the gas releases,

We are currently producing a short video for Utube, which we taped during the initial combustion process we first did in our kitchen. There are plenty of other demo videos out there that show how to make bio-char - but this is the first one that shows the amazing amounts of oil-laden steam, nitrogen, carbon monoxide and hydrogen gasses trapped inside the raw bio mass - jetting out of the kiln under heat pressure. Enough fuel to char itsekf and then some.

This is probably the most productive way we will ever tap into stored solar energy!
It makes biochar, sequestrates the earth with replaced carbon, fertilizes the soil, grows better crops, and keeps the air and earth clean - all at the same time

The potential that our research foundation might be able at convert our entire valley ecosystem and its $200 million alfalfa agri-business into something far more sustainable
as well as five times more profitable makes the grant application to USDA almost a done deal as well as being a huge advert for the budding bioChar industry in general

There are billions of farm acres that need carbon sequestration as well as masses of excess energy for electricity

This win/win breakthrough on how to change the way we do business here in our own desert eco-system has made me realize more clearly how the whole environmental movement is stalled by the argument between business and idealism and how that can be solved.

In this experiment in Fish Lake Valley we will be showing that eco-management in a sustainable manner can be initiated without business disruption and even allow profits to soar to higher levels than previously imagined

I believe that sustainability without disruption may possibly be achieved in any and all industrialized ecosystems if idealists think more creatively and constructively about the motivational effect of bonuses and profits instead of asking for new taxes and sacrifices.

Idealists talking good business sense will shut up all the bull in Congress and get construction going faster than destruction

How to Change the World without Sacrifices

I watched the debate on CNN last night re the Copenhagen summit on Global warming

Like always I ended up frustrated listening to the pros and cons

All the proposals for making a better world made obvious sense
The guy who was against it (and whom I was angry with) argued that we are asking poor nations and poor people in general to make sacrifices or pay extra taxes in order to do it - and therefore no matter how good the ideals and no matter how much economic sense it might make in the future, the existential poverty of the present means mass change can never happen.

I had spent the day with the kids doing a successful experiment in converting raw bio-mass (in this case alfalfa) into biochar in order to produce enough biochar to make soil-enrichment samples for planting in the spring. So I went to bed thinking both positively and negatively.

This whole New Age debate about mass change - politically and economically is a war between the hard realities of business as is at present and idealism as it should be - with time running out on all of us

I woke up this morning with the obvious and immediate solution to mass change staring me in the face.

The answer is to forget about taxes and sacrifices and think about bonuses and profits instead.

Pay people more money than they have at present to make significant changes in the way they do bui9sness, making them richer, happier and more motivated while doing it,

Sounds crazy right?
Not at all.

Example No 1.

Black students do more poorly in school than whites
and more end up in juvenile detention and jail

Solution

There is a guy running a private school in Harlem with over a thousand students. He has been paying his senior black students over a 100 bucks a month to keep up full attendance and high grades for the past five years.
He has been accused of bribery which he cheerfully acknowledges
but significantly not of corruption
Net result .he has lifted black scores in all grades in maths and English up to the same level as whites. Previously thought to be impossible. He has achieved 100% graduation results with every student off to college.
New York City is giving him the money and is happy to do so. It costs them $100,000 a year per child in juvenile detention and $60,000 a year for one in jail. The Harlem school has proved to be cheap at the price.

Example No 2
Fish Lake valley
Alfalfa farmers are planting a swamp plant in the desert. In the process they are draining a precious nartural aquifer of all its water The have huge energy needs required to pump the water for irrigation. And poisoning the soil with insecticides

Solution
We pay the farmers more for their alfalfa than they are currently getting ($200 per ton)

We then convert their crop into BioChar (worth $700, per ton)
on the condition that they use half the biochar ( we sell the other half to pay for it all) to improve their soil and gradually change crops to planting more sustainable corn and fruit orchards which require far less water and energy use.

If that kind of thinking is positive in those two entirely different examples of a mass change of consciousness

The Origins of Human consciousness

Answering the argument between Creationists and Evolutionists:

There is no issue more unsettling on the planet today than the divide over
the origins and sovereignty of man.

Who are we and whom do we serve?

Are we the result of random evolutionary event with no allegiance to anyone but ourselves? Or are we the creation of an almighty God with an eternal destiny to fulfill? Those questions are at the heart of the split between Church and State. Libraries of laws have failed to define that ethical divide and close all the loopholes. When one considers all the wars that have been fought over this subject, and what is at stake now that the instrument of Armageddon is at hand, it is astonishing that such a fundamental criteria for establishing a general harmony of thought and feelings among all men is not on the front burner of every educational, political and religious organization on the planet. Obviously serious work is being done on it, but not at anywhere near the top level of any major government – and so the battle rages on - underneath the veneer of civilized intercourse in some areas, and boiling over in others, without the faintest sign of ever finding resolution.

This issue lies at the very root of our global confusion. It begins right in
our classrooms at the fi rst grade level, and gets more confusing as we work our way up from there. The simple fact is: if we are not sure of how we got here and why we are here, we can never be sure of who we are, or of our purpose, or where we are going, if anywhere. With heaven largely factored out of the modern scientific mind, the whole world is left without any meaning to existence, other than endless consumption. The covert nature of this underlying pointlessness can be seen everywhere if one cares to look beneath the superficial nature of the way we live our lives. There is long-term aimlessness within every level of human management. In undeveloped countries the inability of governments to reassure their citizenry
of a reasonably secure tomorrow, added to the removal of the hope of God from their constitutions, borders on social and religious chaos. Not knowing the truly meaningful answers underscores a massive crisis of human identity, at both the personal and collective level.

There should be no argument with the accumulated evidence of scientific research, which points conclusively at the fact that our evolution has an atomic origin. In the meld between physics and metaphysics that this treatise is attempting to conjoin, we accept the scientifi c rationale that all three billion specie living on the planet, originated from a single algae cell, via a chemical process that took place in a brackish pool during the Pre-Cambrian Era.

The physical question that begs for an answer however is: If random event is the correct answer, then for what reason in that primeval mix, would one of those three billion mutating cellular divisions eventually emerge from the jungle of evolving life and become conscious of consciousness itself?

What practical purpose would self-consciousness serve as a survival mechanism? Why did only one of some two hundred and fifty specie of kindred primates, see itself as separate from all the rest of creation, and in that critical moment of insight, rise above the collective stream of natural consciousness, and become an independent witness to existence? Is not finding the answer to that question the most signifi cant riddle in the long chain of evolutionary events and the ultimate purpose of our big brain? Lets look more closely at the proposals that are on the table as to our origins.

Religion says; by Divine appointment. Science says; via Random chemical event. In modern times a third proposal has been placed before us: Many millions say; via Alien intelligence.

Only one of them can be right. Which one is it? We believe, by a process of elimination, that we can and should settle this argument once and for all and
stop confusing our children. Let’s see if you agree with our summation. In the dramatic opening scenes of the universally acclaimed movie, 2001 A Space Odyssey, a world-wide audience saw a group of proto-humans make that quantum leap in intelligence after being exposed to a mind-altering force emitted by a strange black obelisk that came from outer space. The ape-like brutes suddenly realized that they could use femurs as weapons and fight off territorial invasion by smashing in their neighbor’s skulls. The movie went along with the general assumption that man is basically a godless brutish killer at heart and that an alien force awoke us.

If aliens from some other solar system had a hand in initiating our human
consciousness, then what event on their home planet originated their consciousness? More aliens from yet another solar system! That line of logic leads us, aliens included, back to one of the other two answers; God – or random event.

What does science mean by random chemical event? Statistically, one can mathematically calculate a chance chemical mix in the swirl of primeval
soup, eventually combining the right amounts of proteins and amino acids
to produce a living cell that can divide and reproduce itself, and gradually
mutate into a complex animal. That act of creation might give us the
random answer that science alludes to – but it does not explain how the
abstraction of consciousness becomes part of the formula. That scenario
only makes sense if we confine our reasoning to a mechanical process of
cell division and mutation.

By definition, consciousness is a state of awareness. Such cognizance includes
compassion, love, aggression, hate, empathy, a sense of social ethics, and all the other charismatic forces that have had a direct influence on the evolution of our physical development. If we go along with the scientific hypothesis, then the emergence of consciousness in the chemical mix would have to be explained as some kind of fortuitous essence that manifested mysteriously out of thin air. Mix protein with acid, and hey, Presto! You get consciousness! This is of course nonsense. Nothing – certainly a force as significant as consciousness - can simply be pulled out of a vacuum like a rabbit out of a magician’s hat. The simple fact is that an automatic organic process, based purely on a chance chemical encounter, can, at best, only produce an eventual, unconscious, spiritless, Zombie.

The basic reality has to be: if our original ancestral cell mutated to eventually
produce a super consciousness, then the basic essence of that consciousness would have had to have been present in the nucleus of the atomic building blocks that initiated organic life in the first place.

If consciousness then, is an essential charismatic attribute of atomic magnetism,
the individual atoms that were attracted to each other to form our first cell, had to have some degree of awareness of the advantages that came from association. Combination would increase their charisma and attract others of a like nature. The accumulated contribution of each individual atomic consciousness, in association with billions of other conscious atoms, would eventually form a collective cellular consciousness.

Life could then begin its evolutionary journey of cell division, in a conscious
cooperative effort to extend its basic state of awareness, via a process of environmental adaptation and mutation.

In this metaphysical hypothesis, the origin of organic life would be based on the purposeful intent of consciousness, developing increased intelligence by way of collective cooperation, with the evolution of form as the vehicle through which the goal of arriving at higher states of consciousness may be accomplished. As we are now talking about a conscious act of creation, with form as the by-product, Dr. Frankenstein’s untenable reverse rationale, has (together with Aliens) to be ruled out of the atomic equation. Which leaves us with mankind’s ancient Belief in Divine Creation.

According to this hypothesis, God has to be Consciousness itself. And His seeming intention is to increase His own self-awareness, through the organic evolutionary process of His own creation! Either that, or, as the Upanishads describe it, Creation is the Cosmic Dance of a fully matured God who is simply amusing Himself.

If consciousness resides as an attribute inside the atom, and God is this
Consciousness, then God resides in everything and everything in the atomic
universe is God Conscious. The fact that mankind has emerged as the supreme consciousness in the organic evolutionary process, it must mean that we are a maturing expression of God, gradually learning to become increasingly aware of the cosmic nature of our Divinity.

The next question then is: Is God good or evil?

Although we see elements of cruel deformities here and there in creation, – harmony and order of form, and beauty in expression are the general rule – which allows us to defi ne the essential nature of God as (Good), or Divinely creative, and not sadistically destructive, or satanic.

We see the creative/destructive nature of God in the cosmic process of stellar ignition. As each Star consumes its own atomic mass, the collective consciousness of each sun illuminates the blackness of space and brings light to the beauty of creation. Rays of starlight transfer conscious energy and sustenance to planetary life. Out of God’s stellar death, then, comes organic Creation. And creation is imbued with the Grace of Divine Consciousness and through this act of creation, God is eternally reborn. The net conclusion has to be, that we, and everything else in the Cosmos are expressions of God’s Good Consciousness.

Now that we have dismissed - sketchily admittedly, but convincingly enough for the moment - the claims of millions of science-fi ction buffs, as well as the robot model of the world-wide scientifi c community, we can see that Old Testament religious fundamentalists, who never allowed the sophistication of scientific argument to delude them, and who have clung stubbornly to the literal truth of the Book of Genesis, have been right about the Divine origins of creation all along. (They, of course, will also fi nd it blasphemous to suggest that not only is God within us, but we are also within Him.)

Where does that put us?

For starters it forces us to be intellectually aware that mankind is the expression
of a universal consciousness. All the elements: gases, liquids and solids, are atomically conscious - and when in association, they are collectively conscious. We do not know if an inanimate rock is aware of being a rock, or if a tree knows that it is a tree, if a teacup knows that it is a teacup – but we need to accept that atomic consciousness is a universally shared, empathetic state of being; that everything is aware of participating as a charismatic aspect of the vitality, beauty and harmony of a Divine existence.

Though we can no longer intuitively sense the truth of the above as well as our early animistic ancestors did, we have to learn to accept that we live in an atomically conscious universe. The alternative can only lead to chaos.

In this new metaphysical hypothesis we have determined: That God consciousness
initiated creation: That God exists as a universal state of omniscient consciousness: That His nature is Good: That He resides within us: That we reside in Him: That we are, in fact, an expression of the Godhead, along with everything else: That we have been uniquely selected to be a witness to Creation.

The net result of all this is that we are now dealing with a supernatural atomic organism, endowed with a Divine ego, emerging out of the jungle of life as a deliberate act of creation, about two and a half million years ago - and, as the only chosen son of God among the billions of other conscious organisms - also the sole master of our planet.

What does this chosen son do with his still-developing Divine powers? He murders Abel and defi les God’s creation. He slashes, burns and chops down most of the world’s jungles, pollutes the air, land, and seas; accumulates a pile of stinking garbage, which, if it was all in one pile, would rival the Himalayas, and goes on, and on with clan vendetta, national wars, religious wars, and World Wars; to kill, ransom, torture, impale, incinerate, disembowel and hack to death, tens of millions more of his brothers and sisters. He currently sits atop an insane pile of nuclear weapons, denying the very existence of his own Father, while threatening to blow up all of creation.

How does the gentle, loving and creative side of God, and His destructive vindictive side add up? In terms of the negative and positive forces of Cosmic dynamics -
infinitely, as we shall see. But fi rst, let us take a step further into the Twilight Zone, and see if we can stretch the imagination of particle physicists to include the following metaphysical potentials within the nuclear equation, before we return to the grindstone of empirical determination.

The organic cells of this man/god are genetically imprinted with a billion different forms of evolutionary graduations. This imprint includes the primordial behavioral experiences that accompanied each change of form. The claim in Psyche-Genetics is: Not only can those past memories be retrieved in this super being, but the infi nite complexity of his highly evolved psyche also has the capability to transform his physical body back into any one of those billions of different life forms. He is capable, when his psyche is properly focused, of re-experiencing himself as anything and everything that has ever been created. He can make himself as invisible as a cloud of hydrogen atoms, and then rearrange his atoms to appear as a dolphin knifi ng through a wave. He can appear as a hawk or a wolf or a bat. He can defy gravity and levitate. He can translocate his body through space instantaneously to any part of the cosmos. He can fl y like Superman. He can appear and disappear in several places simultaneously. He has the eventual potential to do anything that God can do. There are mystics and shamans, living now and in the past, who claim to have already evoked these paranormal transformational powers. There are claims of youthful looking
men alive today, who were born a thousand years ago.

The question that needs to be raised here, is not whether scientists should
automatically believe that humans can change themselves into werewolves and vampires, or whether the Bible was wrong about the age of Methuselah, or whether they should believe that man is God, but rather, why they do not put forward a full effort to find out why they should not believe?

Transformational magic is not manufactured out of a vacuum. The genetic information is there – indelibly imprinted in our cells. Particle physicists see similar inexplicable charismatic atomic behavior in quantum mechanics. Why does the scientist think that the behavior of the atom he is observing in a particle accelerator is not also endowed with the same attributes of consciousness that he receives from his own atoms? Why does science automatically think that our genetic make-up cannot be manipulated? Why scoff at such claims and dismiss witnesses to them as superstitious delusions – without putting them to the test? Who, indeed, is being deluded?

Is it not about time that scientists begin to see if they can themselves evoke these paranormal powers, by investing some time in practicing the same metaphysical drills and exercises that mystics do? Would not such an investigation into the atomic laboratory of one’s own psyche, in search of Truth, be worth the effort, instead of simply dismissing out of hand its metaphysical potentials, and the millions of man hours already invested in this research by mystics?

Enough of that for the moment; let’s return to the plodding mechanics of empirical analysis, and discuss the dichotomy of God the Creator/Destroyer in terms that the scientifi c mood of today is more comfortable with. The brutish scenes portrayed in 2001, and in a thousand other scenarios, have succeeded in perpetuating generally accepted characterizations regarding the loutish origins of human consciousness and the godless nature of our basic social behavior.

The fact that mankind engages in murder, assassination, war, mass genocide and territorial invasions - and has done so throughout the blood soaked pages of our recorded history - supports the general belief that we have survived primarily by invading each other’s territories with murderous genocidal impulse.

The cynical over-view; that mankind is basically incapable of pacific relationships
without heavy policing is one of the underlying factors that continues to fuel the artifi cially manufactured social and spiritual ideologies that are imposed on human societies today. This untrusting perception of basic human nature is entirely untrue and grossly misleading. Nothing, as we have stated above, could be further off the mark.

From a purely ethnological point of view, the fundamental behavior of all specie, including early Man, is based on the same survival principles that the rest of Nature operates from. Respect for territorial boundaries is a logical survival imperative. Invasion of personal and group space is carefully avoided. Genocide, except in crowded laboratory cages is almost entirely unnatural. Over-crowding in nature is more likely to result in mass suicide. (Lemmings for example. And perhaps whales do so for the same reasons when entire pods beach.)

If we are ever to understand ourselves as a Divinely appointed specie, born of the same parents, and to varying degrees of development, all on precisely the same evolutionary path towards a hopeful destination, then cynical views concerning the origins and evolution of human consciousness, need serious correction.

Our kind would never have survived this long and proliferated our numbers during the first two million years of Stone Age development, if we had begun our colonization of each continent, by fighting tooth and nail over every square inch of territory. Mankind, like the other primates, is essentially timid and peaceful by nature.

All specie prey on other organic forms for existence. That’s how the food chain works. But generally speaking, specie will not prey on their own kind. If that were so, offensive and defensive capabilities would cancel each other out, and Nature would be faced with the conundrum of mutual destruction. (We were confronted with that grim reality during the stalemate of the Cold War )

If territorial occupations were not respected by neighboring families of the same species, Nature would be a chaotic battleground of unending family and extended family confl icts. No specie could have survived the carnage. Territorial integrity is therefore a cornerstone of Natural Law. Specie mark their territorial boundaries in distinctive ways and survive primarily because that boundary is instinctively respected by their own kind. In this sense, good neighborliness is a common survival imperative that all organic creatures conform to. Though there is always plenty of jockeying for space and competition among males for mating rights, among most specie,
internal battles for supremacy rarely end in death. Peaceful coexistence is generally the order.

When man first came out of the jungle two and a half million years ago, he did not use his supernatural intelligence then and there to suddenly pick up a thigh bone and bash in his brother’s skull. Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden, after their awakening, in peace and harmony with God and His creation. There were 99,000 generations laying the foundation of family values, upon which the entire future of the species would depend, before human warfare created a new social and spiritual dynamic.

The underlying realities regarding our aggressive behavior are that increasing border confl icts; which lead gradually into invasion of territories, confiscation of live-stock, ransom of prisoners, vendetta and eventually, outright war, were an artifi cial reaction to population pressures. Those artificial pressures fi rst surfaced in the late Bronze Age , nearly two and a half million years after MAN fi rst became consciously human.

With plenty of space available for expansion during the fi rst 99,000 generations of our evolution, there was no pressure in the Stone Age Eden for us to invade territories and slaughter one another.

Research among the San Bushmen of the Kalahari has provided some crucial information regarding non-aggression among Stone Age cultures. The facts show that they observe an ethical response to the invisible force that guard’s territorial integrity . (The chapter on Animism provides a fi rst-hand account of those fi ndings and impressions regarding the primitive superstitions that monitor the basic godliness of human nature.)

We have no clear idea of exactly what date “human-ness” (self-awareness) registered on our consciousness and we probably never will. But what might be possible is to explore a possible scenario that might retrieve from our sub-conscious the conditions that might have initiated that first moment of realization – the one that separated us forever from our ape ancestry and made us human. (This scenario will be laid out in the next chapter) Biologically, we know that mankind is one of some two hundred and fi fty primate specie and that we share 99% of our DNA with half a dozen other tail-less apes. We also know that all human DNA traces directly back to
the San Bushmen.

We know from fossil evidence that the posture, cranial capacity and the foraging behavior of our fi rst hominid ancestors, began to digress from that of our cousins as long as fi ve million years ago.

We know that over those fi ve million years, as our use of stone tools, weapons and the vocalizations needed to coordinate group action, became correspondingly more sophisticated, our brain size increased proportionately. Equipped with this large brain we were able to exploit regional environments far more effectively than other primates. Our numbers increased,forcing us to gradually colonize all the continents.

Though plenty of archeological evidence exists that gives us an indication of our early life, we have no objective method of determining exactly when, during that ancient evolutionary march of our very fi rst ancestors, our intelligence changed so dramatically that our consciousness became supernatural. Up until that magical moment, to all intents and purposes, we were simply more effective primates. So, what factor then, beyond physiological differences and our advances in hunting and gathering capabilities, made us rise so spectacularly above other primates and be classified as human?

If we reduce the Cartesian dictum : “I think therefore I am” to something more practical than an abstract rational regarding the reality of existence, and apply it as a primary distinction between the consciousness of man and that of the rest of Nature – then what caused the fi rst hominid to think and thereby become human? And what, indeed, was that fi rst thought?

In order to defi ne our humanity properly, we need to know exactly why and how we began to think. That missing link in our basic self-knowledge may well profoundly affect and improve the manner in which we behave towards each other and to Nature Herself.

Without hard evidence, no scientist (bound by empirical rule) will ever be able to defi ne or qualify for us that moment of profound change. Science cannot pinpoint First Cause and tell us exactly what happened and how that initial realization transformed the hominid psyche. Metaphysical insight has to be applied in this area of research if the answer is to be found at all. When we consider the over-all psychological importance of what we are trying to clarify here, it is vital that we allow our psychics to include their metaphysical skills to more holistically investigate this awesome moment of human awakening.

If we are human because we think, the signifi cant questions that we need to ask are: What possible circumstance made the fi rst human think? Can we determine that thought? If so, what characteristic within that thought elevated our consciousness above the hominid state and made us human? And, infi nitely more profoundly: Why did one of Nature’s creatures rise above a basic survival mode and even think at all? It is sobering to realize that the science of psychology has been built without knowing the answer to any one of these questions – the very foundations of self-knowledge, of
who we are and why we exist.

By any criteria, mankind’s fi rst infant self-realization, no matter how dimly it might have registered in the great scheme of things, had to be a profound Cosmic Event – easily the most consequential evolutionary episode to ever happen on our planet. (And for all we know, in the Universe as well.) And so, in this strange intellectual vacuum, as our paleontologists chip the encrustment off mute fossil skulls and our anthropologists wonder about long-lost prehistoric truths, we continue to live today with the science fiction of an alien intelligence initiating our human intelligence and the ignoble caricature of a brutish, skull-crushing ancestry.

As a net result, a confusion of identity, both individually and collectively, reigns over the planet. Social and spiritual arguments among families, nations, races and religions, rage in every culture without abatement and with ever-increasing acrimony. Since the Jewish holocaust in WWII , at least a dozen more episodes of mass genocide have taken place. This does not include the tens of millions killed by Stalin and Mao over nothing more than ideological differences. The sheer amount of wars, military coups, clan feuds, and family divorces that are taking place as we speak, in terms of shattered lives and embittered humanity, are crippling our collective effort.

As population pressures increase exponentially in the coming decades, so too, will mass dysfunction keep doubling and redoubling. If we don’t put an end to the distortion, the chances of us ever arriving at an ultimate state of self-awareness might never happen, and the Ages of evolution of our consciousness would all have been for naught. The only way of coming to grips with it, is to get at the very the core of the problem and determine exactly when and how we went awry in our early development. We cannot continue to accept that vital pieces of early information, responsible for forming our basic nature, and which may help us to defi ne and analyze our modern identity, can never be retrieved or determined.

Is our First Inspired Thought lost to us forever? Or is there a way to recover it and see how and why it changed us? And can we then move forward step by step and see exactly what Cause initiated the fi rst trespass and get to know why and how our trespass escalated into a potential global confrontation?

In a sense, we are asking what is the underlying meaning of the parable of Adam and Eve eating the apple? We are asking questions here that go beyond human consciousness leaving the innocence of Eden and transcending the Laws of Nature. We need to know the exact nature of the argument that made Cain kill Able. What was the Cause that led to brother, murdering brother, and branding us with the scars of war ever afterwards? What made every human culture capable of genocidal mania? Can that ancient mystery of First Cause ever be unraveled?

According to the Psyche-Genetic Theory : Each and every atomic association, and resultant behavioral modifi cations, since the Big Bang, has been indelibly imprinted and stored in the memory banks of the atomic nucleus of every psyche.

Therefore, no act, no thought, throughout the whole course of the evolution of consciousness is ever lost. If this is true then the trick is; how do we access this ancient bank of atomic experiential information and bring it back from the sub-conscious for analysis and interpretation?

It can be done, but only if we agree to accept the following investigative criteria:

First, without tangible evidence (like a fossil bone) to work with, we have to realize that the retrieval of the original thought has to be a melding of physical evidence and intuitive insight – and is therefore essentially subjective.

Secondly, if an intuitive revelation is true for one – the substance of that revelation must be more or less true for all – for we are all the subjects o the same original experience.

Thirdly, the criteria for interpretation of any scenario that illustrates the probable cause of the First Thought , though subjectively impressionistic, must never the less, resonate among us all, as a common recollection.

Fourthly, each one of us is capable of making the retrieval – for we all house the same information. This allows us to probe our subconscious, and validate, embellish, or even replace any retrieval of the collective memory with one that may resonate among all of us more soundly.

There is no need to argue over the merits of any conclusions as to First Cause and First Thought presented in this work - as long as the sincerity of presentation and conscientiousness of effort to retrieve it, rings true enough to stimulate further investigation and a greater degree of validation.

Over the past four years I have signed up a member on eight philosophical forums for the purpose of discussing novel ideas regarding the evolution of human behavior.

I did so in the hope of finding a receptive audience interested in the presentation of solutions to a host of social dysfunctions that have resulted from over-population and environmental over-load.

To me it has been obvious that a mass change of consciousness is required in order for all of us to adjust to a new global paradigm.

Instead of the open-minded interest in the radical nature of the mass change required that I have out-lined and the nature of the new consciousness required to meet the new demands of the 21st Century, I have been met with a universal storm of protest and rejection.

Continued argument by myself, painstakingly laying out the causes of our dysfunctional behavior, while expanding on the reasons for change, has resulted in out-right banning on four of the eight forums,

The doors there
to new thought
have been shut tight.
and threats of rejection remain on the others.

My conclusion:
People would rather the devil they know
than embrace the unknown.

New thought is not wanted
Banned without recourse
which is a new form of internet fascism

The dilemma we face right now
is that our mass education system in serious imbalance

This imbalance has to be corrected
our technologies are far too dangerous

Our school curriculums on the advent of the Nuclear Age technologies

The Four Stages of Life

At retirement the sage looks backwards into the past,
takes stock of life

Environmental imperatives
have always dictated our social contracts.

There are natural laws of non-trespass that all living organisms (other than parasites)
are subject to.

During the Stone Age
family groups of hunter/gatherers each established their own territorial boundaries.
Those boundaries were determined via a symbiotic arrangement with Nature. (Their annual circuit around their territory had to allow time for plant and animal recovery.) This determined the size of each territory -larger in arid regions and smaller in clement regions.

Population increases resulted in a gradual migration up Africa, into Europe Asia and the rest of the world.

Over-crowding in more fertile regions led to the invention of on Agri-based economy
Clan boundaries were established

Clan Agriculture led eventually to national boundaries, craftsmanship, and an industrial-based economy.

National over-crowding led to imperialism and international colonies and high-tec economies.

We are now faced with globalization and the end of man-made boundaries

The global economy of the future will be based on independently managed eco-boundaries,
Each eco-system will be determined by its own water tables with its economy based on the optimum uses of sustainable resources. Trade will be based on surplus production.

The Evolution of Human Consciousness

Africa is the common homeland of all mankind.

Africa also remains the last living repository of precisely what went on in our prehistoric periods.

The San Bushmen of the Kalahari are among the last remnants of our Stone Age culture.
Rural tribal Bantu groups are among the last remnants of our Bronze Age culture.
I spend half my life studying both the San and the Bantu tribes and have constructed our entire forgotten past from those researches.

One can argue that I am making suppositions.
That is true.
But I have reason for faith in my interpretations

Decades of direct experience on the ground among those surviving cultures, clearly reveal the social organizational imperatives that forced both family group hunter/gatherers and clan group agriculture's to remain within prescribed survival parameters.
Comparisons with existing shamanist practices as far apart as Siberia and North America with those practiced in Africa, tend to confirm basic Bronze Age cultural similarities.

From these researches I have defined the following.

The Stone Age is defined by Hunter/gatherer family groups who survive via a social ethic of meticulous sharing, and an intuitive spiritual sense that Nature is a conscious organism, jealously guarding against destructive trespass. They are all Animists

The Bronze Age is defined by an agricultural existence, extended family cooperation, oral-based communication and clan totemism.
Ancestral worship is practiced via the medium of psychically gifted shamans.

These fundamental social and spiritual realities are the the common prehistoric denominators that guided the development of all human cultures.

It is from that common foundation that all Iron Age nations were formed and developed individual script-based industrial organizations.

All of that prehistoric development is lost in all but the remotest regions of the world.

Three early English pioneer colonists were witness to the federation of the Nguni clans under the despotic rule of the warlord, Shaka Zulu, in the late 18th and early 19th Century. Their surviving diaries describing that momentous event provided me with a clear window into the exact moment a Bronze Age culture came to an end, and how an Iron Age of national organization began.

The on-going survival of a ruling dynasty also reveals why the need for and introduction of orthodox scriptures were a national imperative It made me realize that by learning the mechanics of grammar via scriptural missionaries, the precise spiritual stimulus was created to sustain conscientious craftsmanship as well as engage the human intellect in abstract reasoning, necessary for a further Age of scientific determinism and religious protest to arise out of the Iron Age.

Thus the Iron Age is defined by national industrialization with conscientious craftsmanship religiously sustained by orthodox Scriptural observances

The Steel Age is defined by international colonization, scientific intellectual self-determinism and religious protestation

This logical evolutionary progression of human development through four distinct Ages of mass changes of consciousness is common to all developed cultures.

With the introduction of the nuclear theory, which explains the relationship between orthodox religion and the reasons for protestation, all indications are the we now face a 5th mass shift of human consciousness into the formation of a Nuclear Age Global Cooperative, with us all involved in sustainable planet management and practicing an ontological form of spirituality.

It is Time to bring Incest out of the Family Closet

Virgins received a high bride price
This assured paternity
and helped to cement clan alliances

The hold-over into modern times
makes no sense
keeping incest in the closet
is causing untold harm

I have been exchanging views with a young widow who is in deep mourning after the recent demise of her much-loved mate. She finds solace in the invisible arms of her God

I am a middle-aged widower who's mourning for my recently lost mate is over-ruled by the alchemy of a still-virile male physique that continues to produce copious amounts of testosterone, which, without the regular domestication of loving sexual intercourse drives the male hormones towards rapacious impulses and imagery.

The recipe for a universally acceptable prescription that can establish a
global base of equal opportunity, and thereby promote peaceful coexistence
among all people, will never be found in the mix of any existing
systems of human government. In the present competitive milieu, the law
of the jungle will prevail; the eight hundred-pound gorilla will get most
of the bananas and the whole point and purpose of the cultivation of the
human spirit is thereby reduced to a meaningless exercise.

The basic reason why the solution to world peace fails us has been fully
articulated in[i] Psyche-Genetics.[/i] It has stated repeatedly that the fundamental
social and spiritual value of meticulous sharing that sustains the peace
and harmony in every cultured human family, has been hopelessly buried
under an artificial global economic structure that encourages several thousand
dispirit societies to all compete, independently and unequally, for the
biggest piece of the pie that they can get their hands on. The problem is
compounded when it is realized that we have artificially decided on how
big the pie should be. We have yet to realize that each individual human
being possesses enough latent creative power to replace a thousand-fold,
the amount of energy he or she consumes in a lifetime. The pie in fact, is
infinite and our argument over it, superficial.

So what is to be done about the situation as it stands? It is obvious that the
spiritual eye of most of us is closed, leaving us unable to see into the future
and recognize the marvelous feast our Father has laid out for us after so
many tens of thousands of generations of labor and hope.

But what our evolution has done is make the analytical half of our collective
psyche, if not fully operational, at least focused enough to see that the
current global situation is highly precarious. Under our current systems of
international management only a tiny fraction of the people on the planet
are enjoying the luxuries and full benefits of economic security. And in
the future, as our numbers keep growing, the gap between rich and poor
can only grow wider.

What we need is an entire planet makeover. The major hurdle confronting
us is the fact that there is no quick fix. The current policy of zero-population
growth is not only unnatural and morally reprehensible, all it will do
in the long run at best, is keep the wolves of global hunger at bay – not
produce the Garden of Eden our ancestors have worked for. Even if we all
get together and agree on mass change and begin to institute it tomorrow,
it will be at least a generation before any significant results will begin
to appear. In today’s atmosphere of short-term expectations, arriving at
a long-term consensus is going to be difficult, and implementing it even
more so.

The first reality that we have to face is that we have to return to the fundamental
family and extended-family values that defined our humanity and
separated us from the apes in the first place. We have to refocus our faith
on the compassionate nature of the Divine spirit that lives inside all of us.
In order for that to happen, the false foundations and synthetic edifice of
the Tower of Babel that we have constructed has to be dismantled. Either
we do it ourselves in an orderly manner, or forces beyond our control will
bring it crumbling down over our heads.

If we cannot all see what will work for us, at least we should all be able
to agree on what does not. In this era of ever-increasing global interdependence,
the whole world has to realize that the Age of National Independence;
competing political ideologies, scientifically-controlled determinism
and religious Protest should be buried and put to rest as soon as
possible, before this dying Age’s inability to deal with world poverty and
the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, make nuclear war a terminal
reality for all life on the planet.

World consensus on what shape that future should take can only be
achieved initially via a universally accepted education policy, based on
the commonalty of basic social values and the spiritual essence of Atomic
Consciousness.

If an education based on nuclear theory is to be introduced to the psyche of
the world child without a conflict between physics and metaphysics, then
the charismatic attributes of sub-atomic particles currently under observation
in quantum mechanics needs to be more holistically understood and
articulated.

This Nuclear Age education designed to develop the dual nature of the human
psyche and evoke not only our technological ingenuity to deal with
the large scale planet management projects that lie ahead of us, but also
our soul power of compassionate understanding and thereby put an end to
the immaturity of ideological warfare, must be based on the recognition of
the commonalty of the Divine nature of our collective consciousness and
the Cosmic laws of Cause and Effect that govern our ethical behavior.
The human ego has to let go of the gross concept that the human form is
the only magical association of atomic forces that is capable of expressing
consciousness. Beauty of Form and behavior are expressed throughout the
entire Universe.

We have to rise above the biological impulses that are behind our current
reactions to environmental demands. The present urgency among
the industrialized nations of the World to achieve nuclear capability, not
simply as an alternative energy resource, or for reasons of national pride
and independence, but also (overtly or covertly) to arm themselves with
weapons of mass destruction, are subconsciously motivated by an ethical
imperative to achieve parity. That evolutionary principle is inviolate. No
man can be eternally subservient to another, nor can any nation. Global
thermo-nuclear warfare is therefore, most definitely on our horizon and
will certainly take place unless we make a concerted spiritual effort to
forestall it.

In previous Ages, environmental pressures demanding mass change have
traditionally been relieved through all-out war with a resultant period of
utter chaos before the New Age paradigm settled in. Population pressures
this time are global wide and conventional war no longer an option. The
present danger is magnified by the fact that we are only vaguely aware of
the underlying forces that are pushing us into the future. Our military supremacy
cannot protect the status quo forever. Nineteen young men with
box-cutters revealed how vulnerable we really are. International terrorist
organizations are determined to get their hands on fission material and will
eventually succeed.

What needs to be more fully understood by the powers that are currently
trying to defuse the global situation is that the drive for equality via nuclear
parity is profoundly spiritual as well as superficially political. The Nuclear
Equation has not yet factored in the infinite force of spiritual power that
resides inside Dark Matter. It is our manifest destiny for each and every
one of us to evoke and make use of that power. Without the assurance
that hard-won metaphysical insight provides, the unification of universal
forces can never be achieved and the presence of Dark Matter will forever
remain mysterious.

The question then, is what global policy can be instituted right now that
can defuse tensions and work towards achieving the equality that all humans
yearn for.

In order to answer what is perhaps the most pertinent question of this moment
in time, we need to look very carefully at exactly what the evolution
of human progression is telling us.

The Truth Commission proposed by Senator Leahy presents all of us with perhaps the only bright light that can lead this country out of the many dark crevices we have fallen into in our national and individual pursuit, not of happiness, but of wealth and power. The Commission's potential for cleaning our house and putting all of us back on the road toward honor and dignity in ourselves and our national purpose, reaches far beyond exposing the wrong-doings of the Bush Administration or any economic stimulus package that the Obama Administration may propose.

The beauty of it is that it will cost very little money and, if handled carefully and with tact, it may well snowball into accomplishing much, much, more than the goal it is currently proposing.

As a former state prosecutor the Senator is well aware of how the legal system works against itself - with the accused seeking every legal loophole to avoid prosecution. In this sense half the Law works to find the truth and the other half works to obscure it. He has said that such an approach against the trespasses of the Bush Administration would cost millions and take up to fifteen years to determine and end up punishing only those minions at the bottom of the pile.

By granting full immunity to all who come forward to confess their part in any and every machination to circumvent laws, we do not have a nation ratting on itself, but the opportunity for a once honorable people to finally vomit up all and everything vile contaminant that has blinded, demeaned and weakened us, not only in the eyes of an anxious world, but in the depths of our own hearts.

It is my hope that the value of such a forgiving Christian approach spreads far and wide into every dark corner of every institution in the nation - not with the object of punishing any single person or group, but of restoring ourselves and our nation to good health.

If elephants have the sort of representational abilities you're attributing to them, we should be able to get elephants to learn things from pictures (the location of food, for instance). Or, they should be able to draw novel representations, and not only the ones they've been trained to draw. We have no evidence that they are able to do either.

Elephants have more than just a reptilian brain stem. That's all any of us need for basic survival. A cortex helps us to analyze things. They have a cortex. Not as big as ours, but big enough to have an analytical and intuitive consciousness far above the limits you are trying to ascribe to them. They are not automated consciousnesses. That friendship with the tiny dog and the concern for its illness, the presentation of a flower; all show that they profess as much aesthetic appreciation and empathy with other species, if not more, than we do. They do not destroy other specie senselessly like we do. When an elephants sees a mouse, it does not trample on it. Dolphins have an even bigger brains than ours. Why? Who is to argue that they have might have a far better knowledge and understanding of the greater portion of this planet than we will ever attain?
Life is not just about collating data. It is about experiencing it. A King might not believe that a low-born peasant shares the same values. But that is because of bigotry and nurturing. Are we pseudo-intellectually bigoted about the intelligence of "low born" animals? How sure are you that we are not?

We never invented ourselves. Nature produced us. We all evolved out of the same first cell. Everything that was ever to be, had to be already imprinted in it. We are extensions of Natural consciousness, born of this earth, not aliens injected from some other dimension. We belong to the primate specie. Our base consciousness is natural. Very good question.

Indeed, God does not play dice with the universe. But He is not completely immune to the odd flutter now and then. So he added a joker or two to the pack. This ensures that no end-game can be absolutely computed. It also ensures that He can never be bored by the game. He has to stay alert and keep making tiny adjustements to His creation, ere it fall over the edge into chaos. In this sense randomness is Good.

And how about all other creatures?

The evolution of human consciousness is on a set cycle - with a definable beginning and end. We are about a quarter of the way into the cycle. Actually you and I are having this conversation at a very exciting moment in the cycle. Only four mass shifts of consciousness have taken place over the past 2.5 million years. The last one happened around 500. B.C. when human intellect had developed enough to challenge religious dogma and set off on a self-determinant tangent. That teenage rebellion of trying to analyze the infinite is now almost over. Einstein popped the Newtonian bubble. The universe is not a clock. So now that the clock has stopped, we are all caught up in an eerie time warp. We don't know what to do without a watch. The alarm button won't work either. It is a rather scary moment, I will admit. Millions of us are half awake. We are urging the rest of us to put away the dice. We have got stop gambling with the stocks and bonds of the family estate. Fast cars, fast women, playing Russian roulette with nuclear guns has got to end. The prodigal son has got to return to Our Father's house. The omens for mass change are all in place. We have a new doctrine in Nuclear Theory. Confidence in government and the economy is in a major free fall. All of this is telling a complacent collective conscious that it is time to move on, clock or no clock.

So, in answer to question: No. We will not multiply indefinitely and over-populate every planet in the universe.
But we still have a ways to go before we grow old and die on the home planet. How long each of the next development ages will take, only God knows. In the meantime, we have to press on with our evolutionary journey. We need families in order to continue towards our cosmic destiny. We must continue to breed. The larger each family group, the easier it is to socialize each child. This of course flies in the face of conventional wisdom. But zero population growth is an abomination. Nature will not allow it. She never developed this big brain in order for it to go negative on Her.

Is it really good if cockroaches and all other things multiplied to fill all spaces? :D
How about germs and bacteria and virus? Should they continue to multiply in your body to be good?

I have already mentioned that big brain of ours. And also that desperate teenage quest to find a logical answer to the meaning of existence. It was not a side trip after all. That whole age has given us the precise technology we need to successfully manage an entire planet in a sustainable way, while we continue to double our population every generation.
We know that the sun provides us with enough daily calories to support 1000 billion humans, as well as the existing ecology. Some say 2000 billion. So we know the limit, which is a good indication of the end-game for us.
So now the big brain must devise ways and meant to occupy less and less s earth space in order to allow our numbers to grow, without hurting the ecology. In fact, we have an initial huge task of cleaning up an age of untidy industrial effort - and getting it back to the way Nature had it in the first place. So the obvious answer for continued growth is for our specie to go UP not sprawl OUT.

High rise industry.
Mega ergonomic human hives, that generate their own clean energy, harvest water from the atmosphere, complete with tree-lined boulevards, plantations, streams and waterfalls. With the rest of nature a escalator ride from the entrances.

Man & Beast - A Shared Consciounsess

It it is true then it radically alters our consciousness as regard our human relationship with Mother Nature.
The execution of the drawing you are about to see is as thoughtful, spiritual and masterful as anything a Picasso could produce.
It reveals a consciousness that, in essence, is no different from ours.
There are no words I can use to describe the impact it has had on my psyche.
In the space of ten minutes it has altered my entire world view.
Just for starters, from a personal behavioral aspect it has immediately and radically altered my own attitude towards eating the flesh of any animal. I have suddenly and irrevocably become a vegetarian.
I now feel that commercial animal slaughter it is akin to murder, mass genocide in fact.
I would be greatly interested to know if it strikes anybody else the same way.

Here is a critique from my brother. He has been a professional artist and set designer in Hollywood for the past twenty years.

The amazing thing about the elephant's art, is that she drew it from an abstract single line starting from the trunk to the hind foot, inclined for perspective of it's elevation from the ground. Then repeated that incline again for the forefoot on the same side, The flower was incredible. Two daubs of paint, red on the tip and yellow on the body of the brush and she fan painted the flower head floating in space with a 'hot' center ... the whole image is a romantic ballet ... a dancing elephant. Divine inspiration? Perhaps, but one thing for certain, she painted like a pro ... no different than Picasso. Express the line ... fill in the details.

If any person wants to decide that all of that technique was accomplished by a mahout pulling on an elephant's ear and that the animal had little to do with it, you are entirely free to do so. What I do know from my art classes is that it is incredibly difficult to get a bunch of artistically inept, analytically indoctrinated intellectuals to accomplish anything that remotely approaches art. That elephant class did just that. And if anybody does not find that reaching into the depths of their psyche then I am indeed sorry for the heartfelt numbness of our specie.

Death, Intuition & the Collective Consciousness

Basically, inspiration.
During experiments in the separation of the two hemispheres of the cortex, Prof. Roger Sperry has proved that each side of the brain has different modes of comprehension. The left side processes analytical information, intuitive insights are made on the right.

It is my belief that the intuitive side of the brain is the repository of 20 billion years of evolutionary experiences. From that vast resource inspired idealization surfaces in consciousness when the pressures of increasingly complex survival imperatives demand new solutions. The analytical side then takes over, systematizes the idea and then designs methods of practical application. That analysis is of course an expression of my intuitive insights. I have no proof of it. New advances in brain scanning will eventually tell us more exactly how consciousness works.

What do you mean by "collective consciousness"?

A little known hero of mine, Eugene Marais, a South African naturalist, once conducted an ESP experiment on a hive of termites, back in 1905. His findings were published in a treatise called "The Soul of the White Ant."
He drove a one eighth inch steel plate between the queen's chamber and the other half of the hive. There was no change of the behavior of each individual termite. But when the plate size was increased to a quarter inch, the behavior of the ants on the wrong side of the plate became erratic. That is the natural proof that consciousness can become collective.

I believe that the evolution of human consciousness is gradually leading us in that same direction. In a very real sense the advances in human communication mediums - oral. scripture, telegraph, radio, television and now the internet are all exoteric expressions of our collective consciousness. In another sense our central government serves as our collective consciousness. And yet another - our religions of Belief are also essential expressions of the collective will.

My intuition tells me that as our social and spiritual consciousness continues to evolve, we will transcend the artificial mediums of communication and directly achieve our natural esoteric potential

Jungle Law vs Human Law

My argument against all modern philosophers who disdain man's belief in a larger consciousness is that none of them did their homework. Religion has never been an "opiate". There has never been a time in the whole of our evolution when mankind did not have an intuitive sense of an under-lying universal force governing the ethical laws of cause and effect.

It was present as Animism throughout the 99,000 generations of the Stone Age.
It was present as Shamanism throughout the 600 generations of the Bronze Age
It was present as Scriptural Orthodoxy throughout the 160 generations of the Iron Age.

Subsequent religious Protest, beginning more or less with Aristotle, is simply a reaction to the gradual corruption of religious administration and its dogmatic attitude that refused to accommodate further scientif9ic investigations as to the meaning of existence..

What was not recognized by any of our so-called "big philosophers" whether they chose to be dead to their intuitions or not, is the enormous debt we all owe to our vast spiritual heritage. Not one of those developmental Ages would have progressed in a social context without a corresponding ethical governor. The eventual invention of scripture trying to define God via the written word was not only crucial to national cohesion and administration, it was also vital in the development of conscientious craftsmanship and a marked evolution of intellectual development .

Generations of painstaking learning the mechanics of grammar and syntax was the exact lesson required to organize human though into abstract thinking. If it was not for those thousands of unsung catholic missionaries and scribes who civilized the tribes, Nietzsche and his like would still be running around in bear skins.

IMO all our modern philosophers are dwarfs in comparison to the ancients who intuited and wrote our Scriptures. Nietzsche is simply a rebellious teenager. No brighter than I was as an atheistic teenager.

Eco-Building

Most areas in the world have cave systems that can be used for living in. It is not more expensive then building a regular community. The technology and equipments already exist. To build underground there is a simple way to do that, use rammed earth technology, it is based upon Adobe but, far stronger. Check it out on the net. Rammed earth homes underground where there are no suitable caves is something your group may wish to investigate. There are variations depending upon the earth that surrounds you.

The idea of mankind re-inhabiting caves is far too backward thinking for me, no matter ecologically sound that might be. We have other ideas.

Our 40 acre property is situated in the middle of a dry lake bed. The silt pack is 80 foot deep. One of our future programs is to excavate ten acres or so down to that depth and cover the top with translucent fiber glass geodesic dome. Apartments will be carved out of the 80 foot cliff faces with boulevards and garden spaces in between each section. All sewerage will be pumped to surface reservoirs for purification and recycling. The finished complex will create multi-level earth insulated accommodation and recreation for a large community, possibly an old age center, complete with its own medical facilities. Our building costs are projected to be 1% (yes ONE) of what it would cost in a city. Energy consumption will be one third that of a surface complex.

It is my conviction that the evolution of human consciousness is an on-going event.

What present factors determine this?

Everything in our present behavior underlines our immaturity. Promiscuity, divorce, gambling with the market, fast cars, fast women, playing nuclear roulette. It goes go on and on. It is inevitable that we will and must grow up and achieve a more responsible attitude of adulthood.

How do they interrelate?

Some 200 million westerners HAVE grown up. They are no longer anchored on narrow national aims and religious bigotry. They are responsible parents. They are ontologists, globalists - looking down the road for a more sustainable human contract.

How can the poorest of us (in the entire world) get any poorer? They are subsistence, now.

The very poorest on the planet are already starving to death. The advanced nations are now on the line. Unemployment is projected by some economists to reach 15%. Under-employment will go over 30%.

10% verges on system collapse and we are almost there right now. The drain on everybody is exponential. We already have entire communities in the US who are at 25% unemployed. As all those millions of unemployed families start drawing on the system, for food, heath, shelter as they loose their homes and cars etc., the economic sunami will sweep over all of us. City economies are already failing. So are State economies. More and more thousands are joining the ranks of the needy every day. What is to stop it?

Even if Obama injects a one trillion dollar stimulus package each year over the next four years, all it will do is hold off the inevitable. The stark evolutionary fact is that capitalism has reached as far as it can go. It is at the end of its era of usefulness. It functioned very well in the era of nation building in an untapped New World milieu that fed itsef and the Old World. Those easy resources are now used up. Capitalism has no place in a global milieu. You cannot extract the necessary profits in order to sustain that ideology indefinitely. Just as we could not sustain a farm-based economy as our population exploded, so too can we not now sustain capitalist exploitation. We have to move to our next stage of evolutionary development. It has to be based on sustainable planet management. The New Age ethic is global stewardship - custodianship, not ownership and the vast waste of bureaucratic management, policing and armies that is required to sustain its artificial legality.

Our entire economic system is artificial. There is no real need for us to be in this dire situation. We have the brains, technology, resources, the need and tens of millions looking for and willing to work to affect a mass change of direction - but not the will. Our minds remain indoctrinated with the ideology that only money can change things. When in fact it is now the artificial barrier that is holding back everything. We have to train and focus our children in a new way

14 million workers and their dependent families out of work represents roughly one third of the population, needing food, shelter, health. No economic system can sustain that. The effect is two-fold. It does not benefit from their earnings and has to dip into its own reserves to keep them alive.

It is possible at that stage, with enough people suffering, for him to declare an all-out sustainable war on poverty. He will get the Okay to go the whole hog. Print enough money to ensure 100% employment and put the entire country to work for the next decade in a complete make-over of the infrastructure and the way we do business.

The net worth of American assets is in the thousands of trillions of dollars. So borrowing hundreds of trillions on improvements to those assets will have a positive affect on the global economy and get everybody else doing the same thing. :QED

For the Psyche Genetic theory to hold true the following ethical structures have to be accepted as the foundation upon which all other moral adoptions are predicated.

Sharing

Courage
Loving and caring
Conscientious craftsmanship
Creativity
Intellectual appreciation

Each of those primary behavioral ethics took two and a half million years of graduated conscious development in order to form the basic human character. They define our intelligence. They are an intrinsic part of our DNA. Without those behavioral imprints we would be faced with the impossible task of trying to civilizing a chimpanzee with every new born. Any moral precept adopted beyond that is relatively superficial.

Absolutism rejects both the classic and hierarchical view - it says that only one moral perspective/belief can be valid leaving no validity to uphold any other perspective/belief. That's too extreme a view for me. I don't think we can say that if one system of ethics works for everyone on the whole that no other system could possibly have any level of validity to it.

If the base ethics established during our rise of consciousness is accepted as immutable, I agree with you as regards further moral adoptions. Consciousness evolves basically under the same laws of natural selection that the physical does. Environmental imperatives were and will always be the underlying dynamic that forces us to choose behavioral ethics that will continue our evolution.

Vegetarianism is a case in point. It may well be that meat eating and the slaughter of billions of animals is seen by all of us in the future as a gross violation of base ethics and ultimately damaging to the collective psyche. The environment itself may well force us to stop it before we decide to.

As our evolution advances any new moral adoptions that clearly benefit the on-going development of the collective psyche will then add to the base.

There is no need for a book on how to educate your children yourself. That knowledge is innate. All you have to do is learn how to access that buried information. My particular child education argument is that our school system, which concentrates 90% of the time on our analytical potentials and almost none on our intuitive capabilities, has systematically blocked us from accessing our full creative potential.

My entire drift on this thread is an attempt to show how vitally important the Stone Age and the Bronze Age were in the development of human intelligence. Our ignorance of the important ethical and practical training that took place in both of those preliterate eras of human development is chronically affecting modern education methods. We are systematically indoctrinating our kids by stuffing their heads with technical with data, most of it unusable - like robots - and in that process we are screening them off from their natural creative originality. Those who can memorize and recall most of the data are deemed the most intelligent. If you dropped the average Phd off in the bush, they would have less survival smarts than a baboon. So what are we trying to achieve in our education system? Turn our specie into walking computers, ready to nuke their neighjbors?

A start date of 2.5 million years and an average generation span of 25 years allows us to all realize just how much time was invested in those two formative Ages. 100,000 generations in all. Scripture only became necessary for human development 240 generations ago - 99,760 generations after we first became conscious of ourselves.

During that period we learned how to share and appreciate family values. By setting traps, learning the torque of a snare. making poisons, shooting and learning the arc of arrows and the tension of the bowstring, throwing and learning the force of spears, making clothes, cooking food, learning natural herbal remedies -- I can go on and on .. we laid the foundations of our basic engineering and math capabilities - our doctoring skills - our intuitive knowledge of nature and how best to domesticate her.

Most importantly we remained naively intimate about the Natural law of non-trespass across territorial boundaries and took that intuitive relationship to a sophisticated level far higher than all other animals. Our superior intelligence inquired into the lessons of pain, into the luck of the hunt, into fortune and misfortune. In this way we became intimate with the higher Laws of Cause and Effect. We learned to step very carefully and treat each other respectfully and we taught our children the same. In this way children became self-policed and attentive at a very early age.

The modern parent needs to access all this ancient memory. The child does not have to be drilled inside a classroom. The scientific engineering genius is already there. Our job as parents is a process of caring, encouraging and reminding - of creating the best conditions for our child to access its own latent self-policed genius. We do not need a teaching degree to that. We just need to be caring parents.

I arrived at the date by looking for embellishments in crude hominid tools and weapons. I was looking for something more than just crude attempts to fashion them into increased efficiency. Chimps do that. There is no survival treason for embellishment. It requires Ego, It require leisure time. I wanted something that showed a distinct stamp of personal ownership - of craftsmanship.

There is enough collected evidence in museums that such personal embellishment began to take place around 2.5 million years ago. I believe at that time, enough neuron connections took place between the left and right hemispheres of a gradually enlargement hominid cortex for the dim beginning of a human ego to emerge. An internal dialogue began to take place between the two brains. For the first time in creation an individual consciousness saw itself as separate from all other consciousnesses.

Axis of Evil. A Monster within?

We are all generally aware that we were conned into the war in Iraq by the military/industrial establishment and the politicians who dance to their will. We all continue to live with the conspiracy simply because it is hard to define who exactly is at fault or to totally denounce our own national sins.

But what if the whole con is far deeper and more monstrous than any of us can ever envision?

There have been claims that an American Airlines 757 never hit the Pentagon, that it was hit by a Cruise missile, fired by our own military. If that is so, the charge goes on, then the hits by all the other three planes on the same day, is more than a coincidence - it points to a vast and horrible conspiracy by fellow Americans in which thousands of other American lives were deliberately sacrificed in order to start the war with Iraq.

When I first heard that I laughed it off. Entirely ridiculous! In any case I have always cared less about if there are huge conspiracies or not. What can one do about them anyway?

But if this one is true, it is the Mother of them All.

I have just seen a documentary that has made me doubt my own disbelief.

The evidence I have seen seems irrefutable. Network TV crews filmed the fire-fighters as soon as they arrived at the Pentagon. The cameras initially show only a small four foot wide hole in the front of the building. After the interior fire had raged for some time, the roof collapsed and left a 65 foot wide gap in the facade.

A Boeing 757 has a wingspan of 165 feet and a tail height of 40 feet. According to the video tapes there is absolutely no way that such a huge aircraft could have entered and then vanished entirely inside that 65 foot gap even if it had been there from the beginning.

Despite dozens of video surveillance cameras guarding approaches to the Pentagon the government has not released a single frame.
The one and only counter claim to charges of a gross conspiracy is two small pieces of an American Airlines' fuselage lying outside.

They could have been easily planted by hand in the confusion or even placed there beforehand....

Could such cold-blooded mass murder really be? . ??? :o

Right Attitude

If Buddhism has a central philosophy for life it is "Right Attitude"
I always thought that right attitude was simply having enthusiasm for life.

I got my first adult lesson of the true depth of quality right attitude can bring to life on a golf course.

I had became an avid golfer the moment I lobbed a ball a hundred and eighty yards through the air and landed it three feet from the target I was aiming at and sank the putt for my first birdie. Ten years into my golf game, on my home course in Johannesburg, with a couple of near-scratch games to my credit, I watched Gary Player play the same holes the way a world class professional does.

On one of the par four holes he drove into the rough a hundred eighty yards short of the green. Between him and the green a large weeping willow guarded the approach. Its long leafy tendrils trailed on the edge of the green. I had landed in more or less the same place many times myself. From that lie I had never managed to float a ball over the willow and land it anywhere on the green So I was particularly keen to see how Gary played the shot, and said so to an older companion standing beside me.
He chuckled. "Gary is not trying to get the ball on the green. He is trying to get it in the hole."

Describing God

--you are muddling physics with philosophy. The existence of concepts like "good" and "evil" cannot be quantified by atomic theory, anymore than could notions of truth or beauty. They are in different magisteria (I assume you are familiar with NOMA?).

No I am not. Perhaps you can fill me in.
Perhaps you can also explain why physicists chose to use words like beauty, strangeness and charm to explain the attrubutes of sub-atomic particles.
In the meantime, the following is an argument I am having with an atheist on another forum. It might explain my OP more fully.

Okay. Now we are getting somewhere close to a useful dialogue.

I do not know who or what God is nor do not think I ever will. "God" is simply a useful terminology to explain the impression one has that a state of consciousness higher than one's own exists. We are still children in our evolution of consciousness,. IMO we are nowhere near our full sagacious potential. So we tend to think of God in terms of Mother God and Father God.

I was asked by a women if I believe in a God external to myself.
My answer was Yes and No.
The point every God-seeker has to face, is: If one finally meets God - who then is the observer?
Who is making the evaluation?
What is the fondation of the criteria?

Trying to explain all this ( or not even being aware of the questions when contact happens) is what makes the distortions of who and what God is so universally mis-understood.

I thank God for science and its discovery of Nuclear theory. I believe it is via atomic radiation that we finally might have a methodology for melding physics with metaphsyics. Bohr and Einstein were right and wrong similtaneously.
God does and does not play dice with the Universe.
Randomness is an atribute of existence. But it is not the defining element. Heisenberg almost put his finger on it when he stated that the observer affects the observed.

Of course you are not lying. Nobody was ever able to talk me out of being an atheist. I remained one until such time as I began to have experiences that could not be explained away by any of my senses. It is like trying to explain what the color red is to a blind man. All one can really tell him is that red exists.

All I truly know that you can relate to is that I am no longer an atheist.
All I can really ask you to accept is that a condition of consciousness that is not atheism exists and that I am experiencing it.

You can call it self-delusion, comfort zone, Divine madness, whatever. Whatever it is, the condition has in no way impaired mmy analytical consciousness, or my abiilty to see and appreciate the same phsyical world you see, or not respect the laws that govern it.

In fact this opening of my third eye has made the most mundane pebble an infinitely profound object to be viewed with the deepest reverence. It is a pebble and it is not a pebble, at one and the same time. Such view has made my life magical and I not only want you to know that, I wish with all my heart for you to share it.

The other thing I am trying to share is that it requires work, special spiritual effort. It requires work to open the third eye and it requires sustained effort to keep it open.

In my opinion ( I have visited Israel) there will never be a lasting peace agreement between Jews and Palistinians based on partition of the land alone. Not if each time the accord is signed, only Jews are allowed to control the army. This was the exact same stumbling block in South Africa when dividing up the country into Bantustans. The whites always insisted that they remain in charge of national defence. This was never accepted by all. In th end the whites and their army had to surrender to majority opinion. This is what will eventually happen in Israel. They are fighting a losing battle, simply because it is immoral

Men are men. If you deprive them of their right to bear arms, they lose face in the eyes of their women and children. This is fundamental human psychology. No amount of political or economic argument, or United Nations resolutions can circumvent it.

If there is to be peace in Israel, the men on both sides need to remain men and their families need to admire that fact.

Doubting Thomas

I didn't see what you were trying to say, Magnet Man.

Why do you suppose that finding God- within us or anywhere else- is something utterly important to all of us?

I was an atheist for 35 years. I remember arguing for an entire year with my father-in-law, who had just found God, what a fool he was. I sounded just like you. I have been a theist for the past forty two years. I have a normal IQ. I understand and appreciate all the advantages of science. I have worked professionally as a geologists and as a aerial surveyor. Why do you think I do not understand exactly where you are coming from? Now tell, me, honestly, what makes you think you understand life more completely than I. Can you not accept that I have come to see that there is more to human life than just its animal aspect? Where does inspiration come from? A machine?

Why do you think we all need this vain consolation? Because that's what you have found in metaphysics, a consolation, isn't it? All these uplifting words and formulae make you feel somewhat better, more important, isn't it that?

Of course it is a comforting to realize and acknowledge that there is a Consciousness higher than my own. But it is anything but vain to claim contact with it. It is a deeply humbling experience - to realize that life, even just one cell of it, and how it was created and evolved, is something far beyond anything our science can articulate.

I have a choice. Creation is by design or it is accidental. Either way its is phenomenal. Either way I don't take it for granted. Either way I pay deep respect to its existence. What is primitive or unnoble about having a devout attitude to the metaphysical aspects of existence? Why is it more intelligent to claim it is a random accident? What is the basis for that position? We have no proof either way. Is mine not a more positive attitude? Why poke thoughtless gibes at me? I do not do that to you. The reason I do not and you do is because you have not yet tried hard enough to see the metaphsyical side of life, while I have tried both. That extra experience and all the years of effort required to attain it, has given me a greater sense of compassion about the difficulties of attaining a holistic understanding of our reason for being. You have been in complete denial from beginning to end, You have not made a single inspirational post that would get me to suspect you hold a secret to life that I know nothing about. Your view, to put it bluntly, is simply mundane. I shared it too, once......

I just don't know why yoy must think that these concepts say anything at all to an atheist like me, or to anyone else on this board (with the exception of the Christians and their alike, of course).

The impulse to share Divine knowledge cannot be throttled. It bursts out of the throat. Its just like any scientist jumping out of the bath and running naked through the streets shouting "Eureka! I found it!" It is human nature to share both the good and the bad news. What you do with it is your business. Nobody is forcing you to respond to these posts. Why are you doing it - if it was not from some hidden spiritual curiosity? And why can you not at least acknowledge that you are curious. I post on international philosophical forums not just for you, but for all who read and comment on them. Who is to say that some of what metaphysicians like myself post does not plant some seed in a formerly doubting mind?

Suicide

Her last days…

My sister and I came into her room morning after morning and came face to face with her frustration. Frustration over being immobilized and wedged in this limbo. Frustration with our blind denial that she was dying and our assurances that all she needed to do was rest, that it would pass and she would heal.

The morning I found her on the floor after having fallen trying to reach the porta-potty next to her bed, I knew that her strength was failing. It was terrifying seeing her lying there. Such an alien picture to see the strongest woman I knew, unable to pick herself up. She needed us to help her onto it from then on.

There were accidents, and we would wash her and try to make her feel clean and dignified. She couldn’t stand it. After looking after her own paralyzed mother for so long, she couldn’t stand that we had to look after her now, even if it had only been a few days as opposed to the decade plus that she had been care giving.

One time, after coming in too late to find that she had needed to use her porta-potty, after cleaning her up I cried quietly and whispered to her, “I’m sorry… I’m so sorry. I should have checked on you sooner.” She grabbed my hand and shook her head. “I hate this. I want to die. I can’t make you guys do this. It’s not fair to you.” “No,” I said to her, “This is nothing. Please, this is nothing.”

She was not afraid of dying. She was at peace with that. Her only fear was how she could facilitate it. She speculated over the possibilities. She tried to think of what would be easiest for us. It was morbid. In my un-resigned mind, I would have none of it. She would become concerned then… She would say that she was ok, and that she needed us to be at peace with it.

One morning I came in to find her lying on her side in her bed. When she looked at me, the look in her eyes was confused and uncertain. I found half a dozen of her pain prescription bottles empty in the trash. I knew that she must have tried to kill herself that night. I was so scared, she taken so many pills. As I shakily collected the bottles out of the trash looking them over, I noticed one of them wasn’t empty. Absently I set it on the bedside table. As weak and drugged as she was she managed to reach over and snatch the bottle and angrily throw it forcefully back in the trash. I was so surprised by what seemed such a bizarre thing to do, and with such determination, I let out a confused little laugh. She didn’t say anything though. I didn’t take it back out again but I peered in to the bin and read the label. Only then did I realize that that bottle wasn’t sleeping pills or pain killer. It was her chemo medicine. She whispered hoarsely “How are you supposed to do this? What are you supposed to do? I can’t breathe, I can’t move, I can’t sit, or sleep, or eat. I don’t understand why I’m still here. I can’t live and I won’t die.”

She had talked only a couple days before, kind of incredulously, about the young Australian actor, Keith Ledger, who had died just a few months previous by an accidental overdose and how he was so young and vital and so full of promise. She wondered at how he died so easily… Lying peacefully on his bed, so accidentally gone. And here she was having taken handfuls of pills, trying to leave it all behind, and yet still she would awake, imprisoned in the torture chamber her body had become. This of course added fuel to my argument. In my blind refusal and fearful arrogance I would almost scold her, telling her that that must mean she’s not supposed to die. That it wasn’t her time.

But slowly the hooks I’d felt lodged in my chest, a kind of invisible giant of immense ache that we all tried to bury, finally began to fully realize itself and leave my mind nowhere to hide. It was a feeling that had been there since the first day she told me of the lump that she’d felt. From then on, when I looked at her, stripped now of all illusions, all I saw was the terrible cruelty that this world was subjecting her to, making her continue on when everything this world had to offer was now perched beyond her reach.

Finally came my tearful halting confession as I kneeled by her bedside: I stammered that “If that is what you want… I’ll find a way… I’ll get something...” and I trailed off so unsure and unfamiliar with what I was saying. She stared at me perplexed. “What will you get? How will you get it?” “I don’t know…. morphine… something… I’ll break into the ambulance if I have to.” She looked at me a little surprised. Maybe she hadn’t thought of that possibility before. But she was unwilling to ask that of me or of anyone. And so the offer went by, without anymore said.

My sister and I sat with her, mostly in silence, both of us not knowing what to say. Usually she would shoo us away, telling us off only half-jokingly for being such a grim and gloomy bunch. She’d long since taken to calling me McWeepy, for not being able to keep myself in check.

Anytime I’d try to speak of things I’d wished I’d done, or said, she would always cut me off and shake her head, refusing to let me speak in those terms, one time stating to me that she had no room for regrets and that I had better not either.

She said there was nothing to be said. She said all that mattered was that she loved us and that she knew we loved her. That was it, nothing else mattered. It was a stunning kind of reality for me. She was so peaceful when she spoke those words. So matter of fact, so knowing. I couldn’t quite accept it. Could not quite wrap my brain around the fact that every material thing in this world that everyone agonizes over and analyzes and cares about and strives for… were suddenly gone. Not just irrelevant or meaningless, but not even there, as if they never existed. The only thing you take with you is love, anything else, on any plane other than this earthly one, simply disappears, as if it never was.

The next morning, when I came into see her, she whispered to me to please call the doctor, that he would give us something. Outside her room, my sister and I collapsed into tears once more as we had done so many times before in that very spot. Brett looked at me and said grief and fright in her voice, “You know what she’ll do, right? We have to get it. I have to do this for her. She doesn’t want it for pain, you know that, right?” I knew that.

I called the doctor. I told him, without actually telling, what was happening. He knew. He said we needed to make her comfortable. He said he would prescribe morphine for her. My sister left only a few moments after I got off the phone and drove the 180 mile round trip to Bishop to get that bottle from the pharmacy. I went to her room and told her that Brett had gone to get it… that it would only be a few hours more, now. That it was coming. She nodded without saying a word, relief filling her eyes before they closed and she slipped into the shallow fitful sleep that had been the only crumb of relief she had been able to have for so long.

She woke up over and over in the next few hours, asking again and again where Brett was. She’s coming, she’s on her way…..

When Brett finally did return in the early evening, she only gave her the prescribed amount of morphine for pain. But when I said goodnight to her that night, inside I knew it would be the last time I spoke to her. Letting go that night was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Prepared for it as I was in the past days, still those few moments before she fell asleep as I tucked her in like I had many times, were brutally heart breaking. I lay for awhile with my head resting on her shoulder. I told her I loved her. She smiled and mouthed the words back to me, her voice no longer audible.

The next morning when we came into see her, she was not awake. She lay on her side unconscious. Her face was very pale and her breathing was shallow.

I stood there, off to the side next to my Dad as her body took its final breaths. The sound after that last tiny out-breath left a deafening silence. My mind went blank as the tears just flowed down my face. My Dad hugged me tight and said that she was gone. I wanted to close my eyes and look away from the face that was not hers anymore. All the light of her was gone. My Dad told me to go tell the others. As I walked down the hall, I was numb and stunned. When I saw my sister, she knew instantly from whatever she saw in my face. I kept walking as she passed me. I found my brother in the next room. He looked at me and I blurted that she was gone. His eyes were clear and hurt. He hugged me and everything came crashing in. The sound that came from me was out of my control. It felt as though I were outside my body watching myself.

After two years of remission Donna’s breast cancer metastasized. Over the next four years, despite endless bouts of chemo-therapy, the cancer reappeared in her lungs and spine. The lesions in the lungs caused them to flood with fluid, which had to be drained periodically. Since the draining procedure could not be done under anesthesia puncturing either lung and risking collapse was not only dangerous, but also excruciatingly painful. Each procedure drained over a two liters of fluid and gave her some degree of relief, before the lungs gradually re-flooded.

Years of chemotherapy had destroyed her immune system. In her final month of life she could not shake off a bout of stomach flu. She vomited up every morsel. She was starving and fighting for every shallow breath her flooded lungs would allow.. The slightest exertion exhausted her. Even talking was too much. She could barely whisper out a simple request. The bone cancer in the spine ached unrelentingly. She could not lie down without flooding the lungs. The oxygen machine beside her bed churned day and night. Without food and short of breath her cells were without energy. She could not summon the strength necessary to get up off her bed and take the step onto the porta-potty without help. She was literally drowning alive. No position gave her comfort. Her sleep was fitful. She was being relentlessly tortured, day and night.

Realizing that her body was beyond recovery, she dumped all her chemo pills and refused further medical treatment. The weeks of relentless torture she was going through could not be endured for long by any of us. Our helplessness could only be alleviated via escape. It drove all of us except Kat and Brett from her room.

The week before she died, Donna made three uncharacteristic private observations that disturbed me deeply.

“Shoot me.”
That request held significance between the two of us. We had often discussed the ethics of euthanasia. I had, in fact, practiced it on our animals. During the twenty five years of our marriage, I had taken on the responsibility of putting down all our aging pets. I had often said that if one did not have the personal fortitude to put down one’s own pet and preferred instead to leave that final execution to a stranger, one did not truly deserve the loving exchange that pets brought to human life. The manner of execution was not an issue for me. I had been a big game hunter in Africa during my youth. I knew all too well how to make a clean kill with a well-placed bullet.

The relevance of her request burned into my consciousness. The gulf between human and animal was too vast. I knew I could not do it. Not with a gun.
“I could never shoot you, my dear”
She said nothing more about it, but the inference was clear. She wanted an end to the torture.

The idea of leaving her to continue suffering had to be confronted. Euthanasia was suddenly no longer just an intellectual exercise or a merciful animal killing. Putting down each pet had always been a heart-wrenching struggle. In the moment of death, they knew exactly what was happening. I had to steel my resolve every time, and then live with the memory of it until it faded. Now it concerned a human life. The need was immediate, very real and very personal.

A week later, without telling me, she had decided to end her own life by taking an over-dose of morphine. What concerned her was that the over-dose might not work. In this indirect manner, in the earlier conversation she was leaving me the message to make absolutely sure that she did not come round again.

If the overdose did not work and she started to recover, I had to kill a person I loved dearly. This time, I was sure, the awful nature of the memory would never fade. The alternate option was worse, leaving her to suffer.

The instant finality of a bullet in the brain was out of the question. The only way to ensure certainty without being charged with murder, or at least man-slaughter, was to smother her. On that final night, after Brett woke me to say that she was going, I agonized with what I had to do if the drug failed. I sat beside Donna’s bed throughout the early hours before dawn, listening to her labored breathing, praying that the over-dose of morphine would work. My mind kept shying away from the horror of having to do it. Which of the two horrors was worse? Smothering her and living with the memory of my last act with her? Or living with the self reproach I would feel if I left her to die in agony, knowing that I had failed to accede to her last request? I was a child, wrestling with a serpent in each hand, knowing that a bite from either would poison me.

Mercifully I was not put to that supreme test and left to dwell forever over the memory of it. Donna, thorough as always, had taken a dose large enough to kill an ox. Her labored breathing stopped in mid- morning. She passed without awakening. None of us will never forget the silence that followed the expulsion of her last breath.

For me euthanasia is no longer simply the pseudo-intellectual exercise I once engaged in during the national debate over Dr. Kervorkain’s televised experiments. It assumes an entirely different dimension when confronted in real-life circumstances. I am humbled by the thought of the millions of family members who have been, and still are, forced to grapple with the awful reality of it.

To this day I cannot truthfully say that I could have gone through with it if the over-dose Donna took had failed. I have to believe that I would have found the personal resolve. Sitting by instead and watching her suffer as she drowned in her own fluids would, I believe, have haunted me far more cruelly. In my view, when terminal illness is on the line, euthanasia is strictly a family issue. Since it evokes the deepest family feelings of love and care, merciful termination of suffering has nothing to do with either Church or State. The buck stops and rests on the shoulder of the eldest family member. There may be concern that the act would be abused by some. But that in itself, cannot be allowed to hold the hand of mercy from the majority of us.

Facing criminal charges for murder or manslaughter only adds to the burden of such a heart-wrenching decision. Any argument against it by religion is fundamentally subjective. In any event, a personal request from the sufferer is all that really counts. Merci-killing is a final act of love, not hate. It is not an escape from reality, but direct engagement in it. Maturity calls. The aftermath is between the perpetrator and a merciful God.

Suicide.
“This is so undignified.”
Donna gasped that out as she sat on the edge of her bed, too weak to rise and do her toilet. Those were also among the last words she ever spoke to me. She had resolved within herself to die that night.

Was Donna morally right to take her own life? In ancient times there was no question that each individual owned that ultimate right. In fact, we were morally obliged to do so as a question of personal honor once we became a burden on our family. So who and what authority stripped us of that basic human right? Religious dogma? Political edict? Surely such a supreme act has to be between each of us and our God.

I believe with all my heart that Donna owned that right. I do not believe for an instant that because she exercised that right she has been denied entry into the heaven of her choice. If God loves anything in the human spirit, He loves personal courage. Donna had that - and then used it in her moment of supreme crisis. Who would dare suggest further eternal spiritual suffering added to the physical? Surely not a merciful God!

Donna did not believe that one God fits all. The exclusive concepts of God espoused by any religions appalled her. In her view every one of us has our own ideal of a personal God whom we pay homage to in our own particular manner. That God loves us for who we are – both in our weaknesses and in our strengths. He/She is silent witness to our lives and shares every thought word and deed with us, in triumph or in suffering. And if such a Supreme Ideal of God is not that personal Lover to each one of us, then what use is such a God if He does not empathize with us in our final hour?

So I say this to Donna’s departed spirit: May your loving and compassionate God rest and bless you. The memory of who you were and how you conducted yourself in this life and the courage you demonstrated in your final hour will never fade from our hearts and minds.

Reason for Being

“Life is pointless.”

Taken out of context, that next statement, also made by Donna the day before she died, seemed to refute everything she lived for: Throughout our years together as husband/wife, partner/friend, I had seen her do everything humanly possible into putting all her care and a distinct reason for being into her life. She had three grown kids who all admired and adored her. She was step-mom to four more of my other children who all felt the same way towards her. She neither drank nor smoked. She exercised regularly and took good care of her diet. She had a strong work ethic and took pride in everything she did and did it excellently. She had attended personally to the wants and needs of her paralyzed mother, every single hour of every day for the past ten years. She had chaired the PTA and a woman’s charity organization. She had helped to turn a remote ranch out in the Nevada desert into a functioning non-profit research foundation. She believed deeply and truly n the existence of God and in a consciousness that survived physical death.

Why would a person who had lived such a principled and productive life, remark in her final moments, that human existence is pointless?

It took months after Donna had passed for me to contemplate on those words and gradually penetrate the depth of thoughts and feelings that might have gone through her head and heart in those last devastating weeks when she finally realized that all hope was gone and that no miracle was forthcoming. I will attempt to share what I believe to be her reasoning in the epilogue. What needs to precede that is to put Donna’s last statement into context with her illness and the way she dealt with it. This can be done via the series of video-taped interviews I had with her at various intervals over the years during her battle with cancer.

I believe that Donna’s articulate commentary on her cancer and its treatment, and how that affected her outlook on life, can perhaps be of assistance in helping others to gain an added degree of perspective on the ravages that merciless plague is creating among so many millions of families..

We will never know the exact number of people who have died of cancer over the centuries, or be able to evaluate the degree of pain and hopelessness the victims and their families who suffered with them. Eight million have died of cancer in the last year alone. Perhaps as much as quarter billion dead from cancer in the 20th Century The numbers are staggering. They far exceed the casualties of all the world’s wars that men have fought and died in. All cancer war wounds prove fatal. Remissions may last for years, but in the end the victims die from their cancers –their deaths are not natural and do not come at the allotted time required for a full life experience. Not one of those deaths is pain-free.

Few war stories tell of the heroes who fought and died in the heart-rending battles with cancer. The stories that are told do not begin to describe the true depth of ravaging heart-ache that has been wreaked on helpless families who can do nothing but sit and watch a parent, and worse still, a child, suffer extreme levels of pain and gradually waste away for months and years on end. No medals of honor are handed out for feats of special bravery. No public memorials are erected to commemorate the tens of millions who have fallen. There is no way of evaluating the loss to their families , or the mourning they have do, so alone. There is no national ceremony. There are no State funerals for our millions of cancer warriors.

No life, no matter how menial, is without merit or profound significance. Each of us has our own unique story which is worth relating in context with the events of the period we live in. If individual human life has any purpose, it is to build depth of character and thereby, via shared experience, contribute to the on-going evolution of our species consciousness. Ordeals build and test character. The greatest gains come via pain. It has always been that way. Ancient societies designed and set their own painful puberty ordeals for their children to learn from. Today, our ordeals and tests are mostly intellectual. Yet physical pain remains as the supreme test.

The central questions that underlies all terminal illness are: : Is it God, who invests pain and death upon us? Or is it accidental? Does the ordeal of cancer have spiritual purpose? Or is it simply meaningless cruelty? For those who spend so many years dying of cancer, they are profound questions that never leave their consciousness throughout the ordeal and which need answering. If some believes in accident, then they struggle as hopeless victims of meaningless cruelty, and their life as well as their death, no matter how bravely they fight, is indeed pointless. On the other hand, choosing to believe in God allows them to see themselves not as helpless victims, but as chosen initiates. They become warrior fighters and the ordeal of cancer becomes the test of their love.

Those of us living without constant pain and the constant specter of death hanging like the sword of Damocles above our heads, yet seeking to gain a deeper perspective into some of the profound questions of life, can learn from seeing how a person with depth of character deals with the ordeal of extra-ordinary pain. Donna was a person of character. Cancer put her belief in self and in God to the supreme test. For seven long years all in our family, saw how she dealt with it. Her daily struggle, not just with the discomfort of deadly disease and the hair-loss, which made public appearances awkward; but with the endless hassle over the prescriptions for all the additional medications she had to take; the hours on-hold on the phone trying to deal with the flaws in the health system, tracing her records and X-rays misplaced somewhere between the local hospital in Bishop and the Cancer Center in Reno; making appointments and long-range travel arrangements from our remote farm for endless check-ups and chemo and radiation treatments; all of this while running a large house-hold, tending to a paralyzed mother and caring for a child with Downes Syndrome. Her patience and wry humor at the irony of her situation, made us all wonder where she found the patience and wry humor to deal with it, and if if we ourselves could have handled the sheer tedium of it with such fortitude. She never once, throughout all those years, called on any of us for special sympathy. Her thoughts and comments about breast cancer and the specter of death that haunted her consciousness for so many years, and about life itself, provide meaningful insights into our reason for being.

It a privilege to be a human. No other creature in Nature can see and fully appreciate the God that dwells within them as well as we can. Atheists have to get away from the dogma and see each culture's religion of who God might be in a universal context.

Any argument against God is an argument against one's self and the spirit of who one really is. We have the freewill to denounce Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, Mohammed and view God in our own image. Anybody who claims that one will go to hell for doing so is full of crap IMO.

If any are unsure of who they are, then reading scripture can be of great help. The literal meaning is for children. There are deeper meanings between the lines. The story and teachings of of Jesus, Buddha etc is of great help to tens of millions of spirituial pilgrims who are all seeking in their own way to know that "The Kingdom of Heaven is within,"

When Jesus said "I and my father are one" He was not refering only to himself. We are all One with God. We all radiate the same universal Atomic Consciousness. As Heisenberg said, the observer affects the observed. The more focused you are on the energy you radiate outwards from yourself, the the stronger and brighter and more charismatic it gets. It creates a powerful golden aura around your head and attracts adoration from others. If their physical eyes cannot pick up the higher frequency of your aura they can at least sense the Divine Nature radiating inside you. Those who have achieved this level of inner focus report feelings of extreme bliss.

The answer to why that injunction from a much revered classical philospher has never taken root in western society over the past twenty five centuries lies the core of my theory on Psyche-Genetics.

The larger "another" is the manifest universe. Science is doing a marvelous job getting us to know it. Nuclear theory has brought us very close to the ultimate understanding.

The more immediate other is our own social structures. Who each of us are is the result of the genetic inprints of 100,000 generations of ancestral evolution. Plato and all philopsophers since, only understood the evolution of our collective self going back a mere 250 generations to the beginning of the Iron Age. The other 99,750 generations invested in the Stone and Bronze Ages remained a mystery. It is in those primitive formative generations that the foundations of the human character was established. By going back to those Stone Age roots, studying social structures still rooted in oral traditions, I gained a more profund respect for the whole cosmic process of conscious evolution.

I found my Self, not just inside my own skin, but also among my culture, my race, my specie, my planet, my galaxy and the Cosmic source from which my consciousness originated.

We can take consciousness to the highest levels of eternally expanding degrees of self-awarness. By including all planes of existence, not just this one, this conforms to some extent with astrophysicists Big Bang/Big Crunch theory. Hindus see Cosmic Consciousness experiencing Itself via the evolving illusions of materaial manifestation. All is maya. In Greek mythology it is Narcissis staring into the mirror of his own reflection. Each Cosmic cycle spirals into ever higher degrees of self realization. God seeking to know Himself through the phantom image of Creation, born and dying and reborn eternally.

Nearly forty years ago, Roger W. Sperry., Cal. Tech, Professor of Psychobiology, writing on Lateral Specialization of Cerebral Function in Surgically Separated Hemispheres, had the following statement to make:

“The main theme to emerge…is that there appear to be two modes of thinking, verbal and non-verbal, represented rather separately in left and right hemispheres of the brain, respectively, and that our educational system, as well as science in general, tends to neglect the non-verbal form of intellect. What it comes down to is that modern society discriminates against the right hemisphere. The verbal half of the brain, the left half, dominates most of the time in individuals with intact brains as well as in split-brain patients.”

Despite this observation, by an eminant Nobel Prize winner, made more than a generation ago, warning us that we are educating only one side of the child brain and therefore only evoking half of its creative potential, neither the government nor private education institutions have paid much attention to it. The same public school policy that was implemented nationally more than a century ago continues unaltered today. That same one-sided textbook school curriculum has been foisted on home-school parents.

There has been no attempt by any government or private research institute evaluating whether the intensive child indoctrination system that has been accepted as an international standard of education, might be short-circuiting human intelligence and gradually destabilizing the collective psyche of the entire specie. The fact that only 1% of students achieve excellence in tests, most are mediocre, 40% drop out entirely and God alone knbows how many cheat at examinations, seems not to have been cause for a call for a mass change of direction

Looked at objectively, what does the international education system boil down to?

For six hours each weekday, children are bundled off to school and incarcerated inside crowded classrooms. There, for the next twelve years and more, the left side of their brains are systematically imprinted with a purely analytical evaluation of reality.

Socially, students are instructed that their national political ideologies, whether it be administered via capitalism, communism or socialism, is the only moral foundation on which to govern people and give them the freedom to pursue happiness

From an economic contractual perspective, the national education goal is to place as many literate workers as possible on the mass production lines, with little attention paid to the personal cultivation of individual ethics or the artistic development of their full creative potential.

Scientifically the entire specie is instructed that reality can only be measured empirically.

This one-sided analytical focus on political, economic and scientific evaluations leaves the intuitive right side of the brain to more or less atrophy. Its infinite inspirational potential, and its ability to question the validity of all analytical rationales and seek a more profound sense of balance is left out of the developmental equation,

As a net result of all existing state-sponsored child indoctrination systems of education, apparently sane graduates can be easily persuaded to passionately dislike and partition their own populations via divisive political arguments over how to govern the nation. It allows them to unevenly divide the wealth produced by the gross work effort of the nation; exploit the labor of their workers to the fullest extent of the law; gouge excessive profits out of the market place; gamble with commodities without moral care; empirically deny the existence of spiritual influences, without providing a stitch of evidence to support this claim. And, worse than all the above; in the extreme, tap into the emotional bank of mass indoctrination and easily excite tens of millions to wage international wars and murder the populations of any other culture that does not conform to its own standards. All of this is done, without ever evoking the inner moral guide specifically evolved by Nature, able to question and find self-determined balance to all of it.

What has never been holistically analyzed in terms of evaluating the mass psychology of what happens when entire populations have been systematically drilled from early childhood in artificial evaluations, with all trained to obey technical instructions from superiors. graduates tend to remain in a pre-adult stage, relying on supervision from cradle to grave. Very few mature with self-assurance and a self-policed sense of personal responsibility. There is very little creative assertion.

Thus the nation becomes mired in bureaucratic administration, requiring the endless legislation of laws, legal interpretation and the massive expense of policing a more or less robotic citizenry that can be easily manipulated to the left or the right by any person or system of government that pretends to be fully knowledgeable.

In developmental psychology, it can be stated that the current mass mentality of the most technologically advanced nations remains locked into their teens.

In direct contrast, for the past twenty years the Heartstart program has taken a dual-brain approach to child education. The graduation results have been phenomenal. The ethical behavioral results even more so. We have produced self-tutored, self-policed graduates endowed with a profound sense of personal ethical constraints and a deep reverence for Nature and the technological excellence of the master Consciousness She has evolved. They are all excellent scholars and creative workers. There moral compass is solidly set on Truth is Love. The oldest are now in their twenties. The behavior of each and every one of them has not given their parents a single moment of consern.

The Parable of Sodom and Gomorrah

Twenty years ago, for no particular reason, while living in Hollywood, my consciousness was invaded by the biblical parable of Sodom and Gomorrah. In a strange way I felt as though I was Lot, and that God was warning me to get out of the life I was living , take my family and go and find a more wholesome life far away from the maddening crowd. And, just like Lot, I argued with God that people are intrinsically good and that abandoning them was tantamount to admitting that humankind was more evil than godly. Despite my objections the sense of impending disaster would not go away and the feeling that I must leave remained. We had four small children at that time and the periodic reminders of the earth shuddering beneath us that we lived right on top of the San Andreas fault line did little to relieve me of concern.

I spent many months waking up every morning with the sense of impending dread, trying to analyzing and shake off the oppressive feeling. I worked hard on deciphering the inner meaning of the parable. I eventually concluded that Sodom represented the glut of our fleshy appetites and that Gomorrah represented our national preoccupation with gambling with money and trying to get rich quick by gouging a profit out of every transaction. The inference of the warning was that if these two social addictions consumed us to the exclusion of allowing the cautionary hand of God into our lives, mass dysfunction would set in and they would eventually spell the destruction of our modern culture.

In effect my own consciousness was warning me and asking me to stand back from the mass indoctrination and try to deprogram myself and my family from their insidious influences. Having thus satisfied myself as to what was causing the inner sense of unease, the larger question of Lot remained. What was the purpose of saving myself if the rest of humanity was to be left behind? A life without extended social interaction was no life at all.. Surely the rest of humanity could be made to see the danger in the same way that I did. So, like Lot, with great earnestness, I made a deal with God to find ten good family men. I began warning friends, family and strangers alike that if we did not make significant alterations in the way we lived our lives, our civilization would crumble to dust. I suggested that we begin to wean ourselves off a money-based capitalistic economic system and start cleaning up our act by paying more attention to our spirituality. My urging, just as the parable predicted, was laughed at and derided. I could not find a single person to agree with me.

So I packed up my family, left Hollywood and settled on a farm far away in a lonely desert. I knew my wife was not totally happy with my decision. I warned her that the parable predicted that Lot’s wife would look back and turn into a pillar of salt. She laughed at that and vehemently denied that she would ever leave her children. Her chuckles at my silliness were stilled when the apartment we had left just two weeks earlier, collapsed on its foundations during the North Ridge Earthquake.

Over the next few years I wrote and published a book that outlined the gradual evolution of human consciousness all the way from Stone Age family values to the Present international tensions. The book provided a graphic illustration of the logical progression of social and spiritual survival imperatives that have taken place over four past Ages of human development and how that has led us to our present condition. I argued that we were at the end of a Technological Age of over-intensive mass production and environmental exploitation and that the exponential pressures of our populations on an over-burdened planet demanded a far more ethical attitude as regards the meaning of life and purpose of mankind’s lethal domination of the home planet. Once again I naively expected that the progressive logic of the argument would immediately influence readers and make them find ways and means to change their life style. It never happened. Psyche-Genetics became an instant non-seller. Not a soul responded to it. No book in the history of publication has sold less.

That failure succeeded in shutting down my objections against God. I could not find one person in either Sodom or Gomorrah to listen, let alone the ten God had agreed to in the parable. The failure to communicate allowed my wife’s grumbling to resume. Her discontent was once again stilled temporally when she saw the eerie sight of the twin towers of World Trade crumbled to dust. I then got on a dozen internet forums, (just like this one) and began broadcasting thousands of posts related to the need for a mass change of consciousness. And again got back nothing but derision from all. God had been right all along.

Three years ago my wife found the desert solitude oppressive. She left a loving husband and loving children in preference for a life back Sodom and Gomorrah and has subsequently turned into a pillar of salt.

In September of this year, the whole edifice of Sodom and Gomorrah, as predicted in the ancient parable, has begun to collapse. The walls are falling across the length and breadth of the planet.

It is my conviction that extra sensory perception represents the untapped potential of all human beings. I believe that it is related to uninhibited communicatioin between the two hemispheres of the cerebral cortex. Some few people are born with a clear pathway between the two brains and consequently enjoy a high level of intuive insights. Domineering parents, siblings, text-book schooling, governments, police, etc. intimidate the child psyche. Adults redicule their natural tendency to fantatize and as a consequence gradually block natural access to the intuitive side of the psyche.

During the education of my kids I made sure they were not incarcerated inside a classroom or forced to prematurely analyze text books for six hours a day. I let them run and play throughout childhood. The only disciplines imposed on them where personal ethics, hygiene, chores, gardening etc. I encouraged arts and crafts, and regular yoga and meditation classes. They only hit the text books at puberty. All scored straight A in all subjects in final exams. Though none have as yet turned out to be especially clair-sentient, their intuitive powers are far superior to most people. I devised a telecommuncation test, transmitting random alphabetic letters to each other. Their "hits" were phenomenal - on 50% of the occassions getting six out of six right. Never less than 60%. The odds each transmission are of course 26 to 1.

I am not sure what you mean by "time lines".

At a very basic level time is relative to states of consciousness.
An infant, for instance has no concept of past or future. Everything takes place in the here and now.

As we age the survival demand to master technologies force us to artificially divide time into increasingly minute segments. The analytical side of the brain becomes a time-keeper. When you are young you live with your psyche focused on future ambitions and expectations. When old you dwell on past triumphs and mistakes. It is almost impossible for us to break the hypnotic time constrictions and try to live in the here and now. We rarely exprience the totality of the moment. When we do, the experience seems like a meeting with the Divine. It is as though you are directly connected to everything in the cosmos. You do not feel alone or separated.

Dream time has no relation to waking time and is in fact closer to "no time" and therefore is less artificially manufactured.

Many clair-sentients have "premonitions" about events that in our "normal" frame of time reference, have not yet happened. I have had a numbver of these premonitions about future events in my life. I have at least ten events which took place exactly as predicted. I was taking a casula look at new set of post cards I had just bought, when I had the eery feeling that I was looking at my future life. Its a long fascinating story about the power of premonition which I have related elsewhere.

The fleeting nature of time is regularly experiencied when one is deeply engrossed in a creative mode of expression. I can remember writing my first novel. My wife would bring me a cup of coffee in the morning and leave for work. She would come back in the evening eight hours later and I would ask her, "Why haven't you gone to work yet? Aren't you a bit late?" This time-loss happened repeatedly during the months I spent in creative writing. This clearly suggests that the right side of the brain, when in the creative mode, has no consciousness of time and is disconnected from the analyical side during that period Smoking marijuana also distorted "time" for me.
In contrast, if you are engaged in a tedious chore, time "drags".

Time is completely unreal. Minutes and seconds ticking away on a clock is a manufacture of the human mind. No other life force experiences time the way we do. A dog waiting at the door for its master can do so all day without impatience - even remain unconscious of "feeding time". The entire life span of a microscopic organism from birth to death can take place in a single day.

I hope that is explicit enough.

The newsmen in that room knew I would want the footage of that lone blackman begging for death broadcast to the world at large. What they did not appreciate and stubbornly never would, was why I wanted transparency on such damning action. They believed that strong police action was the only language Africans understood and that they world beyond had grasp of the difficulties in Africa. To them a step out of a mud hut onto a concrete floor, no matter how stark the new might be, was step up the evolutionary ladder which black Africa, owed to the whiteman and had to be eternally grateful for.

Not only Afrikaners, but white South Africans in general had no internal grasp of the depth of black consciousness. Few whites spoke a Bantu tongue. Even fewer read black literature. The cultural divide was one-sided. They lived and worked on our properties, spoke our languages reared our children; heard our conversations; listened to our music; saw our movies and television programs. They knew us intimately and we did not know them at all. We had no genuine feeling for the pathos of a third generation of African children who aspired to move out of their cramped locations, own a piece of the pie themselves and could find no way to do that short of rebellion. After a century of serfdom; laboring in the gold mines; sweeping streets; carrying shit buckets; washing clothes; scrubbing floors and nursing our children for almost no pay; blocked from economic advancement by job-reservation; forced to carry passbooks; continuously hassled by the police; all the while helping to build up South Africa's modern infrastructure, they were now seeking a stronger form of representation in the country's government than they had at present.

The government could not or would not accept that the urban blacks were a detribalized society of self-determined individuals who had moved away from the security of their tribal customs and deliberately sought a life in the white man's world. They had seen the survival advantages of superior technology and wanted their children to learn how to master them. They desired to move forward in time - not be relocated back in the tribal homelands. In response, the Afrikaner psyche remained fixed on the conflicts of the past - focused on their historical fears of numbers. The black/white ratio inside the country was six to one. Another six hundred millions loomed beyond our borders, ready to pounce on any sign of weakness. Die Swart Gevaar. Keep the blackman down. "Give a kaffir a finger and he will take the whole hand"

Every white born in Africa was fully conscious of the racial divide. Very few, myself included, wanted majority rule by blacks. Most were blind to the reality that it was inevitable. I had lived and worked elsewhere in Africa and knew that the winds of change would not an could die out on the Limpopo. Africa was for Africans. I accepted that. But to me, black rule remained generations too premature. They were not ready to run highly industrialized nations. We needed to keep our focus on improving the quality of their technological education, not be politically afraid of their electoral numbers. The entire international out-cry against Apartheid was centered on the demand for democracy. The demand was naïve in the extreme. If after eighty generations of civilized development in Europe, two white cultures in South Africa could not find it within themselves to transcend their own language and custom barriers and vote along purely ideological lines, how in the world where thirteen inimical tribal cultures in South Africa supposed to accomplish that feat? The international demand for democratic rule throughout tribal Africa was so utterly pseudo-intellectually out of touch with reality it made me question whether there was anyone outside of Africa left with any base of common sense.

The practical reality that had to be faced on the ground was that the vast majority of blacks inside South Africa were still only semi-educated. Only a primary school education was compulsory. This was not a deliberate educational policy of racial subjugation. The general education level of the country was poor for both races. There was simply not enough teachers and classroom in the country to do more than what was already being done. White students were crowded forty or more to the classroom. Most entered the trades at age sixteen. Less then 10% of them made it to university. As it stood, the industrial know-how of less then four million Europeans was not only educating the primary education of thirty million blacks, it also formed the bread-basket for a hundred million Africans surrounding South Africa's borders. A collapse of the white government had enormous ramifications, all of them potentially disastrous.

I was one of the few English-speakers to realize that the Apartheid master plan of creating thirteen separate self-governing Bantustans within the traditional tribal homelands was the only logical social and spiritual developmental policy to pursue. Leap-froging from a Bronze Age of agricultural traditions and tribal lore into a sophisticated Steel Age of high technology, without experiencing an Iron Age of basic industrial craftsmanship and orthodox religious observances, would leave a black-ruled nation in a confused evolutionary time warp. One simply cannot go from primary school to university. This hard fact of life was already apparent in the chaos of the rest of black-ruled post-colonial Africa. If, say, something as simple as a windowpane gets broken in the middle of Africa today, it cannot be replaced without an import from Europe six thousand miles away. The entire infrastructures of post-colonial Africa is on its last legs and nobody is repairing it. In 1976 the genocide in Ruanda, the Congo, Sudan, Somalia and Dafar had yet to erupt. But the signs of Africa's post-colonial degeneration into her own medieval Dark Age were already clearly apparent.

The whole notion of Uhuru in Africa was a pseudo-intellectual pipe dream smoked up by lawyers with no practical training in civil management and as such was clearly premature. The European powers who abandoned their colonies in Africa, did so mainly because of the immense drain of maintaining existing infrastructures. Their Imperial ambitions in Africa had turned out to be a net loss, state burdens that they were only too happy to relinquish. For the new leaders of black Africa, the governing reality was that none of them - to a man - were equipped to realize and come to grips with, was that at least a generation or two of conscientious craftsmanship was needed throughout the continent in order to establish a large enough base of technical training able to manage and maintain industrialized infrastructures. This same fact of live was relevant in South Africa, the most advanced of all the colonial nations on the continent. That same anti-colonial notion that the thirteen dispirit tribal groups in South Africa could govern the country democratically and run its nuclear powered national infrastructure as efficiently as the whites was patently preposterous.

The major problem facing the creation of viable self-governing Bantustans inside South Africa was in finding ways and means to create sustainable economic systems in each of them. Without the ability to gainfully employ their own populations and train them to bridge the transition period until they were capable of running the machinery of an industrialized nation, the Bantustan program was untenable. To this end, the Apartheid master plan encouraged, via tax incentives, for large international corporations like General Motors and Ford to establish their manufacturing plants on the borders of the Bantustans. This economic stimulus may well have worked if the rest of the investing world had joined in to support it. But the pseudo-intellectual cries of the anti-Apartheid movement drowned out and quashed the practical applications of the Bantustan master plan. Nelson Mandella remained the revolutionary hero locked up in prison and the Apartheid government the evil Empire.

In any event, the Bantustan policy did nothing to address the growing problem of three generations of detribalized people crammed into the urban locations and ghettos that surrounded every town and city in the country. The reality the government could not face and did not know how to deal with, other than mass relocation, was that some six million of South Africa's black population were no longer culturally connected to or interested in being sent back to their tribal lands. The urban blacks and the generations of sophisticated cultural reorientation that they had undergone needed to hear and experience their own voice travel beyond the jazz of location music and protest slogans. Exactly how far and how loud their political voice could be heard, needed to be urgently negotiated. The growing pressure of millions of school graduates seeking something more than just sweating in the mines, sweeping the streets and washing colonial clothes had to be met with a realistic policy of gradated economic and political advancement. Persecuting and jailing their leaders and enforcing petty Apartheid laws only emphasized and exacerbated the emotions of racial discrimination.

On the other hand the arguments of their black leaders like Nelson Mandella, trained to be lawyers and not civil engineers, crying against injustice were one-sided in the extreme. Zero credit was being given to the advances in black consciousness already achieved and how difficult it had been to do so. As far as I was concerned the resentment against white privileges needed to be addressed more holistically and nobody was doing that effectively. Blacks and the anti-apartheid movement in general needed to be reminded that Europeans had served for eighty long generations as unpaid serfs and minions in Europe, living in hovels beneath the castle-walls of our overlords. They had sweated blood and tears and suffered torture on the rack for our privileged position. No pain, no gain. All cultures and races had to serve a degree of allotted time. Certainly not for another two thousand years like Europe did, but at least one or two more generations.

To me the conflict between the races was a matter of semantics. If, instead, the current attitude of master/servant, could be changed to a mutual dialogue between teacher/student, that more realistic approach would encourage a kinder, more enlightened domestic atmosphere. Pressure would be relieved if every black child believed in a future of graduated advance, of hope and promise - not one of stagnancy, of perpetual servitude, of military confrontation and hopeless pleas for on honorable death rather than a disgraceful life. This mass change had to be initiated in improved technical educational and job opportunities, not at the polls. Freedom to vote, without the skill to be gainfully employed was a Christmas wrapping without a present inside.

As a television producer directly involved with modern mass communication, I believed that only through transparency, admission of mistakes on both sides, could we achieve racial understanding, prolong benevolent white administration and make South Africa strong for all its people. But I also knew that all of my hopes were seen by others as too naïve - too idealistic, that given the opportunity, black power leaders would not wait another generation - that it could and would be even more ruthless, more savage than white power. The political chaos and acts of genocide in rest of independent Africa bore witness to that. With the fall of colonial rule, as with the fall of Rome, Africa was entering her own Dark Ages and would remain there for centuries.

The weight of all I have mentioned above, bore down on all of the public communicators caught in the time-warp inside that editing room. There was no question that they would suppress the news. There was nothing I could do about it. I knew then that would leave Africa soon and find a more hospitable home elsewhere on the planet. But I wanted confirmation that I was doing the right thing. I needed to know exactly what had happened in Soweto that morning. I owed that young black man, begging hopelessly for death, at least that.

I left the editing room, went down to my car and drove six miles out of town to the giant location. I had a fully loaded 16mm movie camera lying on the seat beside me. I wanted to investigate and report on what had happened for myself. The road out to the location was strangely deserted. I had been going into Soweto every morning for the past three months, documenting urban shamanism. Over a thousand witchdoctors, mostly women, still found enough customers in the shadow of the giant Baragwanath hospital, to practice the ancient Bronze Age art of psychic healing.

The focus of the documentary was; who in black society became a witchdoctor? What made anyone decide to become one? How were they trained? Via public television I hoped to dispel among white South African viewers the prevalent superstition, fostered initially by the Christian Church, that witchcraft was the Devil's work. During the months spent documenting the forty shamans (sangomas) who participated in the program. I could not help but be impressed, not only by the uncanny nature of their psychic powers, but also by their down-to-earth grasp of basic human psychology.

Instead of just mystical hocus-pocus, I found myself among forty of the most intelligent and analytically insightful Africans I had ever met. The finished documentary revealed to some extent the subtle nature of the spiritual empathy that exists between psychic healers and their patients. I saw that African witchdoctors were duplicates of the ancient alchemists of Europe, the forerunners of modern science. The spiritual message I got was that the true art of human kindness is to empathize so deeply with the spirit of another pilgrim in life, as to actually feel the pains of fellow human being. It made me realize that if sensitive mediums were able. with a little training, to care enough to feel the pain of another and could reach out a healing hand, mankind in general had the capacity for the same degree of empathy and compassion. Potentially we had the internal power to heal our nations of all our ailments.

During the final days of filming one of the female shamans I was working with warned me that she sensed danger ahead and that I should stay out of Soweto. A few days later, Credo Mutwa, a Zulu witchdoctor made famous by the well-received publication of a book on African mythology: Indaba My Children had told me that he had a dream about blood flowing in the streets. In genuine distress he had naively asked me to warn the government that some awful disaster lay ahead.

In the weeks after, while editing the film inside the huge broadcasting complex, knowing that I had the power to talk to the whole nation, I wrestled with his plea. How was I to transmit psychic premonitions through a modern news medium and get a white audience who viewed African superstitions with general disgust, to take the warnings seriously? Without denigrating my source, I cautiously tried to warn top administration officials within the SABC that I had been given information about violence brewing in Soweto. My reluctance to provide the source of my information was taken the wrong way.

A previous documentary of mine, which featured the early life of Mohandes Ghandi in South Africa and his fight against race discrimination, had included anti-Apartheid interviews with Dr Alan Paton and Professor Fatima Meer. It had been banned from public broadcast. This, among other attempts of mine to bring black consciousness to the fore, had placed me on the lists of BOSS, the Bureau of State Security, as a potential anti-Apartheid activist. So my warning that something was brewing inside Soweto was interpreted that I had some form of contact with the banned ANC movement and had inside information on an up-coming subversive demonstration. When I eventually confessed that my source was the intuition of witchdoctors, one can imagine the derisive response.

I had learned to take the premonitions of the shamans seriously. So I took a different tack. I held meetings with my fellow producers in the English documentary department, arguing that our programs should concentrate on the variety of unnecessary hardships blacks were experiencing inside Soweto. I pointed out that any genuine act of concern shown by the whites, especially if broadcast nation-wide, would go a long way towards ameliorating the growing sense of resentment inside the townships. Violent demonstrations in one form or another could be avoided if we worked together to appeal to public sympathy. My colleague's response was disheartening. That were convinced that I as over-reacting. They did not feel that even if they wanted to, a mass change of race relations in the country was not at all possible. The under-lying reality was that the government controlled the SABC and they did not want their careers jeopardized as black sympathizers. These thoughts were in my mind as I drove out of town to investigate for myself and find out why and how Credo's dream had come true.

There was a heavily armed police road block at the entrance into Soweto. The police were backed by army troops. They would not let me through. So I drove around the perimeter of the vast location, looking for another way in. It took me a while to realized that there was only one road leading in and out of that vast township. One throughway for a population of over one million! The strategic reason was now obvious. When the government bulldozed down Sophiatown the vast unsanitary shanty town that once crowded Johannesburg's city center, and built the huge location of Soweto (an acronym for South Western Area Township) six miles further out of Johannesburg, and then and relocated a million black workers inside it. they had made sure that any future mass unrest within it could be fully contained. With the road block in place, no one but the police could get in or out.

After an hour of circling the location and finding no other road in, I was about to turn around and go back to the station, when a young African man stepped out of some bushes on the road-side and waved me down. He was in obvious distress. Tears streamed down his face. I pulled over and picked him up, hoping for information. At that time I still had no idea that several hundred children had just been massacred. The man beside me smelled of kaffir beer. He continued for some time to sob beside me. Finally he spoke: "I left her there! My girl-friend! She was facing the police guns! She was brave. She would not leave! Children were dying right in front of me. I was frightened, so I ran!" We rode on in silence. After a while he stopped crying and spoke soberly. "You know Baas, Dingaan made a big mistake." His historical observation should not have surprised me. Africans in general have a vast oral tradition of their history and tribal lore. Most knew the names of tribal chiefs going back ten to fifteen generations. Dingaan, who had assassinated his step brother Shaka, the founder of the Zulu nation, was paramount chief in 1830's. He had invited seventy Boer pioneers seeking his permission to settle in Zululand, for a conference at his palace. The Boer leaders had entered his compound unarmed. At a signal from Dingaan, they were surrounded and butchered. A Zulu impi of five thousand warriors was dispatched to kill the four hundred voortrekkers waiting to hear if their petition had been granted. Luckily they were warned in time by the daughter of missionary and managed to defeat Zulu regiment. The Battle of Blood River that followed was a turning pint in Black/white relations. The Afrikaners decided that the whole country had to be taken over and held by force. It was that single act of Dingaan's treachery, determining the future course of black/white relations a century and a half earlier, that the young man beside me had put his finger on.
I sighed. There was nothing more to be said, by him or me. I gave him some money and let him off in Randsburg.

There was no way of suppressing the news of the massacre. Four hundred school children staging a peaceful protest march for their right to be taught in English rather than Afrikaans, had been ruthlessly gunned down by the police. The entire world was out-raged and the anti-Apartheid pressures of boycotts and sanctions against South Africa was tightened. I was left with three options. Do nothing, like the rest of my English-speaking compatriots. Keep having my work banned and possibly end up under house-arrest. Or leave the country and find a more welcome home some where else in the world. It was clear to me that Apartheid would eventually collapse and the country go under black rule. To me that was the worse of two evils. Much as it outraged the basic human right to a fair political system of government, white rule remained the only viable economic rationale. It was only a matter of time before thirteen generations of pioneering effort came to an end. I could do nothing about stopping it. Three months latter I sold my house and car, packed up, bought a round the world air ticket, and left the land of my birth for good.

My maternal grandfather was a Jew. My first stop would be Israel. I had some claim there. Maybe they would give me sanctuary. I had no idea that I would be stepping out of an Apartheid frying pan into an Apartheid fire.

The Illusion of Security.

In the 14th Century a Hindu philosopher named Shankar postulated an atomic theory which stated the matter is illusory (maya). Six centuries later Einstein proved that matter is basically condensed energy.

What this all boils down to is that we and our lives are aspects of a vast cosmic illusion. Reality is relative to a state of consciousness. In order for the individual to feel secure, he or she must join a majority contract that defines what matters in life. Our individual sanity is based then on a consensus of the majority's opinion. If this opinion is challenged in any serious way by any individual who refuses to agree, the specter of mass insanity and subsequent chaos looms.

Our fundamental American security blanket is based on Representative Government: Democracy: Capitalism: Christianity. These are nationally accepted as the only true realities. This consensus of American values was established in the 18th Century by our founding fathers. In order to secure and preserve this American reality, we have been and still are prepared to send our sons into war and kill anyone who challenges it. We have invested in a vast armory of nuclear over-kill to ensure and protect it.

At the start of the 21st Century, the illusion that has sustained America's sense of security for almost three centuries, started to slowly unravel at the seams. 29 young men with box-cutters slipped past the vast military defense system and brought the tallest symbols of a Capitalist empire crashing to the ground in a pile of rubble. A growing panic about what constitutes reality, and therefore security, started then. Entire nations have been designated as evil. We condone the torture of anyone who challenges our illusion. Our private conversations are eaves-dropped on.

Underlying the gradual collapse of America's sense of security is the basic fact that the vehicle designed by our founding fathers is harder to keep running. It is a rickety old vehicle that burns too much gas and pollutes the environment. The roads and bridges it runs on also need serious attention.

The four pillars our sense of security rests on need serious re-evaluation

Our idea of Republic as security is an illusion.
Having one's vote represented in congress by men we knew personally and trusted may have made sense in the days when mass communication was limited to the speed of a horse. In this era if instant mass communication, placing the responsibility of your vote in the hands of a complete stranger makes no sense and is widely open to corruption.

Democracy is also an illusion and always has been.
The initial idea was to remove power from royal birth and place it in the hands of the ordinary man. One man/one vote sounds very well when shouted from the oratory dais, but in reality it makes little sense. According to this system any callow youth with no record of significant achievements in life can nullify the vote of a respected elder. The natural conservative/liberal divisions in social outlooks have also served to dilute political enthusiasm. As a result voter motivation in general has suffered. Less than half the electorate trouble to go to the polls.

Capitalism is an illusion.
It is based on the premise that national creativity, competitiveness and productive effort will not materialize or be sustained without the liquidity of money. This artificial concept denies the basic evolutionary impetus of human genius and puts a cap on our full creative potential. In order to keep the power of capital investment viable, governments limit the printing of promissory notes. Only a limited number of ideas can go into production and the majority of the work-force is trained to remain uncreative while serving on the mass production line. The net result of this artificial restriction is that more than three quarters of the planet is under or unemployed and half of the children are starving. While the artificial barriers that this vastly restrictive monetary-based system remain in place, the real work of managing a planet with everybody fully engaged in stewarding it as a single family estate, can never materialize.

Christianity is an illusion.
We do not have the sole ear of Almighty God nor do we dictate who goes to heaven. That idea was promulgated by the Bishops ad Nicosia nearly two millennia ago and is patently not relevant on the global stage today.

What we need is an entirely new set of illusions – new ideologies that requires a global consensus to sustain and make as New Age of human evolution seem real

Does Evil exist?

I don't understand. Isn't "evil" the antithesis of "good"? Aren't these properties relative to the person perceiving them? If so, what purpose is there in avoiding "evil" and embracing "good", except to limit us to a societally correct life?

Answer:

An atomic universe is dynamic because of negative and positive polarities.
The symbolism of yin/yang by Taoist metaphysicians provides a clearer understanding of "good" and "evil" than do kabbalists.
There are natural forces of non-trespass that go to the heart of nuclear physics.
Right and wrong cannot be analysed.
Matter is energy
Energy is consciousness.
The sanctity of every atom is inviolate.
The right side of the brain has the ability to intuit trespass on any atomic associatiion.
It releases an electrical impulse that makes one feel "uneasy" when trespassing.
For instance - a fragile artifact "asks" you to be careful and not to drop it.
The higher your state of consciousness is the more careful and more aware you are of non-trespass.

I have laid out plans for a better mouse trap on several threads, and it did not take a rocket scientist to do it. Any asshole could do better. Capitalism has turned out to be the greatest blood-sucking leech of all time, with tentacles reaching across the globe. Worse, its a terminal disease. at least the leech lets go when it is sated.

Actually he is trying to fight fire with fire. His problem is that if he does get new money to do all the national restructuring he wants to do, it will not be nearly enough. Anybody initiating a new business enterprize knows that starting off under-capitalized is a sure-fire recipe for failure.

It is a pity he never got a big enough mandate to do exactly what needs to be done. As his economic advisor it would tell him to declare an all out war on national poverty. Begin by ordering the Fed to print zillions of new dollars, This would effectively devalue all existing dollars and temporaily neutralize the national debt. I would instruct our creditors to have faith in the American worker and hold onto their devalued dollars. Large Corporations and private firms would be put on war-time production footing and instructed to pour all their resources into a complete make-over of the national infrastructure.

Brand new energy grid designed for renewables;
Brand new ergonomic vertical cities built outside flood-planes and hurricane alleys.
Brand new transportation system.
High-rise indoor farming.
Free health care and free education for every citizen.
Encourage a global stewardship corps of young graduates to travel abroad and help undeveloped nations get up to speed.
Ensure full national employment for a thirty year war.

At the end of that time, the new American dollar would regain world dominance. Debts would be squared with interest.
